Anyone going to see Tamsin in "God of Carnage"?

Postby marinewarden » Sun Feb 10, 2008 3:45 pm

As, there appears to be no news on any more GW signings  (unless anyone knows differently?) TS suggested that perhaps we could meet up as a group to go and see Tamsin in "GOC" ?

I know I really want to see it - so what does everyone else think?
Its been a while since we all met up so I , sorry Di, thought that it would be nice to? (sorry for "stealing" your idea first before you had a chance of suggesting it to everyone, Di  )

Well as far as I'm concerned I'm really trying to cut down on the amount I spend on theatre tickets...so though I definitely want to see it I will be doing the usual student thing of turning up an hour or so before the performance and getting whatever they have left for a reduced price. This will be sometime during my easter holidays (15th March - 6th April)...so maybe if you fix a date during that time I can try and co-ordinate my viewing with yours!

I'd definately be up for it if I can fit it in with shifts and college . It's about time I met some of you lovely people - I'm starting to worry that you only exist in my head .
And it looks like a great production. Tamsin - hurray!!! And Ralph Fiennes - rawwwwr!

My shifts are a bit wierd, and w/c 31st March is a 'flex' one, meaning I don't have all my shifts booked yet. I have a bit of annual leave left so I could try to book a day off to fit in with what suits other people if anyone else is wanting to come. It's probably best to sort out which is the best day for everyone else, then I can try to move my shifts around to have the time off. I'd really like to come if I can though - it looks great. :D

Official London Theatre have an offer on for tickets for God of Carnage, no booking fee for some of the previews, its not much of an offer...only £2.50 off, but better than nothing.

I'll probably still be at home then so I'll try and co-ordinate my viewing with yours.

Maisie has actually told me (in a PM) that she would prefer the 2nd - can people do that instead of the 3rd?
I am not booking my ticket just yet as I have a friend who gets free tickets and then only asks for fiver for them that go towards a charity that I actually support - Cetacean Research and Rescue Unit near Banff in NE Scotland :
http://www.crru.org.uk/
I have been up there and seen it for myself and even done some brief volunteeering for them so I know that is good genuine cause.

Anyway, back to the subject, I am happy to do the 2nd and will probably end up going more than once I expect but I am holding off on tickets until later on

..I can book my ticket or are we all going to book together?

I was planning on just getting myself a ticket but a group booking could work out cheaper? *shrugs* - depending on how many have to be in the group to qualify? Or I could see if my friend has a few nearer the time?...

...Actually I might just check how booked up the play is getting and then decide from there if it is worth booking in advance and I'll check on numbers needed for a group booking and GB2U..

I've got the 2nd off work so I can definately do that evening. But if the 3rd is better for others then don't let my stupid shift pattern wreck the plans! I will just come along to the next meet up instead. Any excuse to have a little trip to the capital

I'm ok with the 2nd and it would be great to finally meet you after all our chatting on here! I shall check up on how booked up its getting just so I know whether to book in advance - you going to book your own ticket then or shall I find out how many are needed for a group booking as it might be cheaper?

Maisie and I are booked to go and see this on the 2nd April at 20.00hr so if anyone else wants to join us then you would be more than welcome!

Tickets range from £30 (Upper Circle) right through to £60 (Orch. Stalls)
Think they are selling fast though as when I tried to buy Dress Circle Tickets (£52 each) they sold out (literally while i was just checking if I had selected 2 and no more) but I managed to get tickets in the stalls for the same price so actually ended up being a better deal!

Can't wait to see Tamsin and Ralph on stage.... :D

Well...it was a great performance by Tamsin and actually rather funny too - definitely recommend going to see this!

We (FQ, Maisie and I) waited at the stage door for her too and bless her...she looked so tired when she came out - we just patiently waited while some bloody e-bayers "hounded" her for autographs and pictures (she certainly didn't seem that keen on having her picture taken so I refrained from asking her) Anyway eventually she turned to us and signed mine and FQ's programme - my pen wasn't working (Tamsin looked at me as if to say, "Oh give me a break; I just wanna get this done quickly and go home!") so FQ came to the rescue with hers - thanks Gabs! Then FQ commented on how she loved GW and I added how we were at the signing and she asked whether she was there and that was about it but, bless her for signing!

Great meeting you Vic (finally) and good to see you again FQ - have a good term!

I really enjoyed the play too. Very funny, and complete with bonus Tamsin drunk-acting, which is always welcome :D And move over Ralph Fiennes, I may have developed a small and entirely inappropriate crush on Ken Stott  I thought he was brilliant!

Great to meet you both Annabel and FQ. Nice to put people to the names
