Eight Lives Down
by Chris Hunter, Julian Rhind-Tutt
Synopsis
Chris Hunter has the most dangerous job in the world in the most dangerous place in the world - he's responsible for bomb disposal in the British sector of Iraq, pitted against some of the most ruthless and technically advanced terrorists in the world. It is a 24/7 job - his team defuse over forty-five bombs in the first two months alone. And the people they're up against don't play by the Geneva Convention. For them, there are no rules, only results. Bombs, rockets, grenades, ambushes, booby traps - death by any means necessary. Welcome to the real Wild West. But for Chris Hunter, just when life couldn't get any more dangerous, the stakes are raised again. Halfway through his tour, he is told: 'They want you dead, Chris. You and your team have captured their weaponry, you've fingered them with forensics, you've neutralised a shedload of their IEDs, and basically you're making Behadli and his lot look like ***** They're out to kill the golden-haired bomb man in Basra...' Suddenly Chris Hunter is not only saving other people's lives, he's saving his own...
Another book I would never have chosen to read but if Julian is reading it I can listen to anything.

Ooh nice find Kitchengirl!
I totally agree with you there - anyway with his Lordship narrating is mighty fine by me and certainly makes the subject more appealing...for its thanks to Julian that we are learning about subjects that never would have interested us in the first place...for that, I thank you Julian!!... and Kitchengirl for finding this out!

Haha I wonder if this is partly why they chose Jules to narrate it?
Another thing to add to my Amazon wishlist it seems!

Gulliverzone: Complete & Unabridged
Link:

..and another:

Is there no end to his narrating of Audiobooks?! Not that I am complaining or anything!!

Found a rather nice pic of Julian reading Eight Lives Down for the audiobook recording:
It's taken from the Story Circle website - http://www.thestorycircle.com/main.htm who produce the books. Looks like Tamsin Greig has been busy for them recently too!

I'm going to try and print that one so I can put it on my workroom wall so when I'm sewing and listening to him I can get distracted
Slightly embarassing moment when one of the girls I work with at the theatre asked if she could borrow some of my audio books ( as she loves audio books) when she handed them back she ppointed out that they all seem to be read by the same actor

I know! Think he may be the very definition of 'cutey cute' in this photo!
Maybe I should make him a new one
What a fantastic idea! Do you reckon you could make it a nice sapphire blue? He doesn't seem to wear mid-blue much but it really brings out those yummy eyes
