What did they find so disappointing?

I've seen him on stage before and thought he was absolutely brilliant, so I'm sure this time will be no exception. :)

Not too sure FQ. They just said that he was ' no classical actor' & seemed to 'struggle' with the part.

I'm sure you'll have a totally different opinion tho' when you go to see it/him. Enjoy!!

To be fair to him, it was only in previews until last night so it's understandable that it might take him a little bit of time to get into it.
How lovely is he at the stage door though? :lvdr:

The fangirls doing a little dance of glee at the end also amuse me greatly...because of course I'm nothing like that at all. *cough*

Reminds me of a certain ginger Jesus, though obviously he was able to stop and chat to us properly!

i thought hamlet was amazing when I went to see it David was captivating IMO but i didn't get to see him at the stage door after because it was raining so much they all left quickly :(

i wrote a writeup about it on my live journal if people want to add me and read it (I'm too lazy to type it all up again)

aw bless david in that stage door video! well i thought he was great, not perfect i think he DID struggle a bit but he is clearly a classical actor, and rose to the challenge. patrick stewart was amazing too.

Great interview...though I swear he's not 40! I bet they've got his birthdate confused with Julian's! I thought he was 36.

yeah he is 36 isn't he?? *IMDB's it* yes 1972 he is 36!

although I'm not liking the beard much :( i dunno why I'm just not keen on beards they only work on a few people - steve is sadly not one of them

i didn't realise how much his plays cost though I may only be able to afford one (and that's if i hurry up and get a damn job!)

While sorting out loads of old videos I ended up finding all my Due South ones. The program about the canadian mounty and now I've had to drag out all my Callum Keith Rennie films etc.

Mind you I'm probably on my own with this one. He played the new Ray in the last 2 series. Sadly he's now in Battlestar Galatica but I think I'll be drawing the line on that one

Steve's lending his support to Age Concern's "Hungry to be Heard" campaign:

Almost like having Guy back, but not quite. *sigh*
He must've filmed these fairly recently too as that looks like early beard growth for The Norman Conquests.

I just found these 4 vids too!

Steve looks great with the beard for NQs. Nice to see him back as a sort of 'hairy' Guy. All for a very good cause too.

:WD: Steve

I've just managed to get a return ticket for the Tennant's Love's Labour's Lost!! FOR THE WIN! :D

So I will be bopping up to Stratford too when I'm back for The Norman Conquests...I must be mad!

ETA: Ooh, apparently you can win the white coat Steve wore in the above campaign vids:
