Awwwwww lush!!!!!! Nice one, Roz!!!
What do you mean, "better looking in real life"? When'd you meet him?!?! Hehe
Oh man I'm so jealous of my mate's girlfriend Cheryl, whose Dad organises the buses for the Great North Run. 2 years ago, David did it. And guess who got her dad to let her go on the Celebrity bus and as a result sit and talk to him for an hour then drink with him in the bar all evening????
This was before i met her. Otheriwse, I would have died. =P

i just wanted to say did anybody see that comedy "Free Agents" with Stephen Mangan on channel 4 last nite? he played a really Guy-ish character and actually realy adorable i thought! also anthony head (from little britain) was hilarious as his grotesque pervy boss! (a role that quite suits him as he's yuk anyway)
you'll never guess what aswell - my laptop conked out the other nite, and i've probably lost Everything - my dad's mate's fixing it....i just hope he doesn't end up seeing my GW & Julian folder (it's not a shrine...honest!)i will be getting some funny looks when he brings it back....

Yeah Bek - I watched that "Free Agents" last night too - quite funny but OMG - didn't it end rather abruptly? I thought so and I was just getting into it too! (damn those Ch4 people!) I just wanted to hug him when he was crying over not being able to sse his kids..aww bless him! Talking of children; wander how he is finding the new role of Fatherhood? Perhaps I'll have the chance to ask him tomorrow night (well I mean tonight really as it is passed midnight!*YAWN*) as I shall be seeing him the Old Vic's Celebrity Gala night - can't wait!!

(*sneakily typing from brother's bedroom computer) yes it did end abruptly! half an hour isn't long enough when Stephen Mangan's in it! i was just as annoyed because i wanted to see what happens as it looked like they were going to get together! and yes, when he mentioned his kids in it i wondered how he was getting on, i think fatherhood will suit him well actually as he seems a fun and energetic person.
wow! lucky you getting to see him!

I forgot to record Learners...I'm in the middle of downloading it now! I was too busy being at this at the time:

Like I say on my blog entry...it was like theatrical crack to me!
Where's Annabel? I NEED her to tell me about the afterparty...if she got to hobnob with all the actors I will actually cry.

Never fear FQ; I'm here!!!!.....
So Last night then...
So I went to the Celebrity Gala night at the Old Vic and got fairly good seats - actually ended up sitting next to one of the actresses' husbands - Haydn Gwynne's husband (she was the tall brunette doctor in "Peak Practice") so you can imagine what he was like when it came to the play with her in...bloody started wolf-whistling didn't he?
Anyway, all the plays were very good especially, the one Stephen M was in - he was in the opening scene wearing a mask and snorkel, a dressing gown (not too hideous! - like his "Guy" one) and his socks half-on his feet to resemble fins (not "flippers" like he kept saying but that's because he is not a diver and us divers say fins!) and talking through his snorkel - it was hilarious! Tom Hollander was equally brilliant getting his "kit" off for his role in the play he was in.
Didn't do the Stage Door "thing" and headed straight to the after party instead ("Damn, I thought, "missed out on my chance to meet Stephen?!") to find more free alcohol and a bit of food. As I was queuing for food, I just happend to look across and who did I spot? Only Mr Mangan himself! "Right, I said to my friend, "I am grabbing this opportunity to go and speak to Steve - hope you don't mind?!" so off I stroll over to Steve, who is chatting to his wife and friends and patiently waited for him to finish his conversation before I "butted" in - he actually acknowledged me a couple of times before he finally came over to me and said, "I'm so sorry to keep you waiting!" I was like, "No problem Steve - I do have manners after all so I don't mind waiting!" After chatting a bit about him not being at the signing (obviously completely understandable why!) he said, "this may seem weird but can I show you a picture of my son?" I was like "Yeah! course you can - thats not weird!" so he did and boy what a sweet picture it was...awww bless him - he is so proud to be a Daddy!
Then I got him to sign my programme and have my picture taken with him by his friend who was laughing as Steve was pulling a funny face - judge for yourselves:
Then I told him it was lovely to finally get to meet him and proceeded to throw my arms around him (had had a few by then - I slightly cringe now though!) to give him a hug - whacking his friend in the face at the same time with the programme! ...such an idiot so I apologised and he seemed to be okay with it (probably just overexcitement he thought or at least, hope he did?!)
So I've been smiling ever since!!!!!

Well like I just said on msn...I'm not going to cry seeing as I've met Mr Mangan a number of times (haha) and you didn't talk to Tobias, Tom or Sam!
Also, check out me and Edgar!
Yes I know he's short...shutup!

He sounds so proud of his son already, as he should be,glad you all had a good time.
I started yesterday at the theatre with a phone call from Richard Hammond, sadly not the top gear one just another bloke in Herefordshire with a name that gets women excited.
Seeing as I had to sit through the 2nd Harry Potter ,( please tell me they get better cos I'd rather watch the worst witch) does anyone else think the kid that plays Malvoi(?????) looks like a baby Michael Shuemacker(???) if ever they make a film of his life he should definetly play him.
I'm now off to hide behind the couch to avoid all the broomsticks and wands being thrown at me . On the subject of hiding behind couches what do we all think of the story that John Simm is going to take over as the doctor !!! better still though is the bit that they're looking for a new female assistant which meand Catherine Tate won't be around long

Really wanted to go to the Spaced thing but sadly I was working (as ever!). Glad you had such a great time FQ - that picture is very cute - he's such a huggable geek! (your T-shirt rocks too - did you make it? Does it say 'cornetto' on the back? )
MW - sounds like you had a top time too and your Stephen story is so sqeeable. "can I show you a picture of my son?" awwwwww...

No I didn't make it...it's from this website: http://www.sizedoes.co.uk/ but their t-shirts bit seems to have disappeared.
They had loads of good ones from shows like Life on Mars, Doctor Who and Shaun of The Dead.
