JRT at the National - 16.11.07

Postby jrt patch » Thu Nov 08, 2007 5:06 pm

Looky Looky!

On Friday 16 November the National Theatre throws open its doors for a free access-all-areas insight into theatre, exclusively for students.

A complete day of free activities, this unique event is an unmissable opportunity to see the workings of the National Theatre and work with some of the country's leading theatre-makers including Sir Richard Eyre, Kwame Kwei-Armah, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Julian Rhind-Tutt, and David Schneider.

I've been going back to London every weekend for the past 3 weeks...I really can't afford to do it again. Arsebiscuits. :(
It sounds exactly like the sort of thing I'm interested in too...not just because of Julian! :( :(

Well spotted patch, that sounds like a great day for some lucky students (wish I was XX years younger).

It's a real shame if you can't go FQ. Quick, get hunting down the back of the sofa for all that loose change!

Oh, my fucksies!!

I'm a year too young - not an official student yet.... BAH. And I'd have nowhere to stay and its too late for cheap train fares. Should that make me feel better? It doesn't. Blah. The lucky attendees! =(
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

It's just not feasible for me unfortunately...I've also got a friend coming up to Manchester from Brighton to see me that weekend.

ETA: Just found some more info about what he'll be doing...why am I torturing myself? :(
Short Play: National Theatre by Mike Punter
Where did Theatre begin? Why do we have a National Theatre? Mike Punter and Julian Rhind-Tutt join together to answer these questions, and more, with comic flair in our specially-commissioned sketch!!

Ooh dear - Kevin Turvey! remember that character Rick Mayall used to play who was a predecessor of Rick from the Young Ones.
That poem he did:

Theatre,
what is theatre?
I don't know - ask Vanessa Redgrave....

Sorry. This event just reminded me of him......

Oh God I wish I could've gone! *cries*
-----this turned into a bit of a running commentary...sorry!----
Love how he still has his coat on though! Lol. Also, is it just me or does he seem to be playing it a bit like how he played Dan in LWW? Sort of like his 'clueless dumb blonde' act? :?:
Hee! "Hankie acting"!
