I don't know how positive I can be at the moment but if you can except a tentative yes I'd like to think that by June next year I'll be a bohemian divorcee or certainly one who doesn't cry all the time and wishes to go on a swiss adventure

Hi Mac Valentine...great to see you posting again! You don't have to be positive at the moment, but if you are up to it next year it will be great to have you along! I know that there are one or two others coming who have been through the same trauma as yourself who can no doubt offer help & support.

Never a truer word spoken Rita!
Keep your chin up Mac V, it eventually starts to improve. In between decrees myself so know all about it. I'm definitely going, having something to look forward to helps.
Hope things get better for you soon :foru:
Have her back?... I'm not a family heirloom!

I really hope you come mac V we can all drool over the one man who never lets us down

By the way yesterday should have been my 7th wedding anniversary. Got taken out by the best man had loads to drink and a nice meal then we spent 3 hours sat on my kitchen floor trying to teach the kittens how to use their new cat flap ( with little success)

Maybe I married the wrong one

Haha... nice one gosh.

Aw man, I'm jealous of you all! Switzerland! Chalet! Green Wing! Four Days!!! Bah!!!!

Alas it's in June.... right slap bang in the middle of my A2 level exams. I think. They start in May and go through June, but if I'm lucky i might not have any on those days. I dunno though. If I am, and i get my timetable in January, count me in if you'll have me. But otherwise you'll have to be sans-linka for the weekend and I'll be all grr. =D

Linka, you're not the only one that can't go. My sons will be in the middle of their GCSEs, so I can't go either. :(

Your trip sounds wonderful. I don't think I could explain to my husband that I would be going to Switzerland to watch Green Wing for 4 days, but I'll be with you in spirit.

I'm sad to read about all your divorces. I have two friends who went through it but they are now both with wonderful men who appreciate them so much more. Big hugs to you x

Am intrigued by the best man story......

Well I'm not sad about my divorce. The only reason for marriage is so that you can fully appriciate your freedom once the divorce comes through :D

Hey Rita,
Sorry for not getting back sooner for the GW weekend - definitely "up for it" if there's still room for one more? However, I need to check when half term is (as I work in a school) as this, and the holidays, are only the times I can really take days off for but I can always come up with a good excuse...any ideas anyone? as your idea sounds like we'd have loadsa GW related fun!

I'll get back to you soon though!

Hi Marinewarden
I knew you were on holiday so I wasn't expecting a rely from you just yet, however I deliberately booked a weekend away from the school holiays to keep the flight prices down!!! I know how frustrating it can be as I was a teacher most of my working life & you just can't take days off outside the school holidays. Let me know if you think of anything!

Have just checked out the dates for next year's summer term's half term and unfortunately, it is NOT during those days you have booked  ...but it still is a while until then so, you never know what will happen ( i might not even be in the same job - who knows?!)
Anyway, if there are only a few places left and some others can (and want to) definitely go: then I don't want to stop them as I can't give a definite answer! .......Damn it!!! - I'm actually really disappointed now!!! :(

Can I just point out that we have occupancy of the Chalet from Friday morning to Monday afternoon, you would need to book your flight home for monday afternoon/ evening. Please check times & dates with me before you book.
Thanks
Rita

I'm SO happy to be back online after being 'puterless' for weeks now!
Anyway I must tell you about my recent trip to Switzerland, we took the the little cog railway up to the chalet, took about 30 minutes and the views were spectacular, visited the chalet and met the owner who is very amenable and anxious to help. The chalet is lovely, basic but very clean, recently redecorated and very well equipped. We went walking in the area & found two nice and amazingly reasonable restaurants nearby, one with a large outside terrace overlooking the lake from a great height! We also took across the first consignment of wine, red, white & lots of Rosé!
I will need a deposit of £30 each please, which should cover the accommodation, I will email you about how to pay. Only one or two places left now I'm afraid!

Hehe. How many of you are going? It sound's like you'll have the best time ever. I'm so jealous! Bloody exams. It's really mad, before you go you'll all be able to see each other online and say, "See You In Zurich!" because Switzerland is so relevant to GW. You should go Skiing for a day. Haha!

Just thought I'd let you know that Easyjet have opened their booking for next summer. The prices are really good at the moment, £48 return from Birmingham, £56 from Gatwick & £86 from Liverpool. There are probably other budget airlines flying to Geneva as well, its worth doing some research.
