Well as a few of you might know, I was going to Canada for a holiday and am in fact still here, on the lovely Prince Edward island with one of the other froum members - Aquitaine (in fact I am sat in her office writing this) ....I had never met her before now and had only sent her a couple of emails to see if she wanted to meet up and Voila....we did/have and have had a lovely day driving around the island and walking along beaches and of course talking about a certain fraise-blonde (non-stop actually - he came up in every topic of conversation and we even drank to his health over supper!)
So it's nice to know that the JRT love is worldwide too....
...here's Aqua with a quick word too...
"Hi all - I am essentially a lurker but have loved admiring Julian with you all - yet from afar. But now, having met the wonderful Marine Warden and shared tales of her actually meeting this tall, stunning man after his play...and hearing about his environmental sensitivity as well...I am happy to join publicly in the JRT love. Though in PEI on the edge of the known world I was able to show her a DVD of Julian as Peter in Clocking Off. Many rewinds later - almost all electrons now worn off DVD! (but in a good cause ) we are saying farewell as she prepares to go to Nova Scotia tomorrow for an ecological expedition. Here's hoping JRT love will continue there! Best wishes to you all and thanks for making this such a fabulous forum." Daphne in PEI

JRT love In Canada

Well I know we've had some meet-ups in London where people have travelled from afar, but you've taken JRT-loving to new international heights now, marinewarden!
to aquitaine/Daphne, glad you like the forum, sounds as if you live in a beautiful part of the world.
Enjoy the rest of your trip, Annabel.

many fraises-blondes
Thanks, Rosie! I do live in a special place, particularly since we have the highest proportion of redheads in the world - as most of the settlers here were Irish or Scots and so the recessive gene has hung on better than in other places. So there are lots of fraises-blondes - if that's the correct plural? - but sadly, none as delicious and charming as Julian. Sigh. Will cling on somehow, even with him so very far away....

Hi - I saw him first on Clocking Off as the lawyer Peter Cochrane - loved him immediately, and as I also adore Philip Glenister, it made a real impact on me to see them together. I was watching the series to see Philip so Julian was HUGE added extra.
Got Green Wing with a digital package including BBC Canada - which I subscribed to to see Glenister in Life on Mars! - sense a theme developing here? And yet again Philip led me to Julian. I adored him - as who would not? - in Green Wing and although I have not seen every episode I have seen most and that's when I really appreciated him in all his charm and brilliance. Have seen nothing else of his, except a bit of voice in a couple of Radio Dramas on BBC 7...(which I also bookmarked to get access to Glenister in "South Riding")...(I know. I'm sad.)
So now I am all conflicted - Gene Hunt or Mack McCartney? Which will I marry? Who's baby will I have? (Yeah, I know - but a girl can dream!!)

Well I have just finished my Earthwatch Expedition on the southern shores of Nova Scotia (monitoring how mammals are dealing with Climate Change - from small mammals - voles and chipmunks to the large mammals like coyotes and bears although we had no sightings of the larger mamal species, we were able to trap, humanely, the small kind) and I did indeed spread the JRT Love although majority of people on the expedtion didn't know who he was but, they are now intrigued and are now going to investigate who he is and what all the fuss is about.....so worth the fuss - yeap indeedy do!! There were one or two that had heard of him and one of them had even gone to see him in LWW (incidently, when Ralph Fiennes did too) so I was quite impressed and then proceeded to talk to her about his lordship (a LOT) although she did probably get sick of me "ranting" on cos he did (again) "pop up" in almost every conversation...and now I have found someone else to go the theatre with!
