ok so now LWW is over we need something to look forward to until Marple etc is on so as suggested last night anyone up for seeing The Master and or Shinney Lynden??

John Simm in Elling (trafalger studios) from July 6th -Oct 6th and the lovely Paterson Joseph at the National (providing Julian hasn't left the card to warn him what we look like)

I'm sure Julian won't mind if we worship someone else for a bit, we/he knows he's our favourite anyway. Maybe we could do a matinee and evening on the same day for those of us with a long way to travel ( having just worked out LWW cost me over £400!!!!) but he was worth it.

Anyway just a thought let me know what you think.

Back to reality now got 3 hours to finish a prom dress.

By the way I really need cheering up as Mum called me this morning to tell me my 12 yr old cat died in his sleep last night just about when I was getting a cuddle from Julian. Mini Mac is devastated

By the way, sorry to hear about your cat......at least it was peaceful though and 12 yrs isn't bad....I'm sure he had a good life and was very well loved - he'll send you "another one along soon" I'm sure - thats what my mum believes...when my last dog died, she believed that the dog "sent" our current dog to us - not quite sur if I really believe that but its a nice thought anyway - don't you think? Anyway, "chin up" he wouldn't want you to be sad!

not sure about dates whats the best for everyone. Was thinking a weekend because of people getting time off work and seeing if it's possible to do both in one day!!

Probably best if people look at what dates the shows are on and which are the most convienient then we come up with the best 2 or 3.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments about Taz. Not sure about another one as I already have 2 9 month old kittens running riot in my house . My parent swear no more cats but they said that about 3 cats ago!!

Well any dates are fine for me really as I'm basically just dossing about til September! Though I will be in Rome 26th Aug - 8th Sept. I was going to see Paterson Joseph in "The Emperor Jones" at some point anyway...

Hehe. It sounds like much fun but alas with me losing my job and two trips to London has been such a drain on my savings I'm pretty screwed until after Christmas when I'll have money to spend =P If I get a job though it'll make a big difference! Who knows...

Are the previews for Paterson cheaper than the normal shows? I'm off to Rome for 2 weeks on 26th Aug so they're the only shows I could really do anyway.

The ticket prices for Elling are putting me off slightly, even though I'd like to see that too.

Hey I don't know if any of subscribe to updates from "The National Theatre" (i'm sure most of you do?!) but I have just read that there is a Platform, that the lurvelee Patterson Joesph is doing on the 7th September...
....I didn't know he was in "Saint Joan" too?! (as "Cauchon") ...Blimey he does get around doesn't he? perhaps he's trying to follow in JRT's footsteps eh? (hehe)

Just a quick post to say went to see The Emperor Jones on Monday night. Ladies all I can say is, if you're going you won't be disappointed. PJ is absolutely marvellous, he's obviously been working out as he has a magnificent six pack and is very very shiney marinewarden. The only downside was I'd been working at Notting Hill Gate station for the carnival and had shouted myself hoarse so I couldn't shout and cheer at the end as I wanted

I've also seen St Joan and he is very good in that, but Anne Marie Duff is a tour de force. I loved that so much that I've booked to go again. We are SOOO lucky to have the National and as mentioned before £10 Travelex

I highly recommend both plays

Glad you had a great time, EmmaQ1! All the reviews (and the photos! ) I've seen for both plays have been great.

Sadly, I shan't be going to the theatre any time soon, thanks to a financially crippling fixation on a certain fraise-blond.
