Awww - sympathies to both of you G&C and bookgirl. I work shifts so I know what it's like to be up and working when the rest of the world is snoring! Hope you have a good supply of Julian to get you through

Back from holiday all tanned and relaxed to the cold and the rain - now sneezing like mad and all the good work of the holiday undone!

The only downside to my holiday was a woman who was staying at the same hotel who decided she was going to be my friend (similar age, children etc). Every time I sat by the pool quietly she was there - I'm not sure she ever left the hotel!
One afternoon as I listened to Julian on my MP3 (the Other Man) she interrupted to ask what I was listening to. She had no idea who Julian was but as she had watched the Rotters Club she eventually realised and said " oh yes, he was supposed to be charming wasn't he, but I thought he was really odd looking."!
I told her that I knew (I didn't say virtually) some people who have met him and that he is in fact very charming and good-looking. I don't think I convinced her though!

I'd have had difficulty suppressing the urge to throw her into the pool for her blasphemy. Hehehe. Congrats on your self-restraint, Lil. :P
I suppose there have to be some people out there immune to Julian's charm. It's a shame, but there must.

Quick question to those with kids or medical knowledge. Mini has measels he's stopped with me the last 2 nights and now I'm scratching. Do we think I should be at the theatre?

Any suggestions for stopping the poor little muppet from scratching?

I think you need to see a :dr: to get checked out really. It would be a very good excuse not to go to the theatre though. [& you can catch up on all your sewing :) ]

Don't go near anyone who's pregnant tho!!

Have a look here:-

Hope you are both feeling better very soon.

Not sure how long you're infectious for G&C, but I think I'd be wary of coming into contact with you if I hadn't had it!!

hope you're all having a wonderful sunny weekend. I've spent mine cooking for everyone for my sisters birthday. Her fiance (no 4) chose this time to suggest a trial seperation and the @**@ is still living in her house. Entertaining mini and getting on with the garden.

Off to a beer festival today but more importantly I haven't been near a sewing machine since friday :D

Went to a friend's wedding on Sunday in the most romantic setting. Unfortunately, her Mum was taken into intensive care that same morning, having battled terminal lung cancer for the last few months.

It was an incredibly difficult and emotional day for her and her family - she could barely get through the vows, poor thing, and her Dad had to get her sister to read his speech.

We all tried to be strong for them but I couldn't hold it together during the ceremony (mind you, neither could several other guests). We all did our best to liven things up at the reception by dancing our socks off and, generally, trying to carry on as normal.

They've booked a dream holiday to the Maldives for their honeymoon and they're meant to fly out tomorrow but with things being as they are .........
Her Mum has insisted that they go no matter what but I don't see it happening somehow.

I hope everyone had a much better Bank Holiday weekend than we did!

at midnight on sat I discovered 3 local drunk boys/idiots peeing on my car which is half way up my drive, so they'd had to go round the fence to do it.

I yelled through my upstairs window ( given recent news you don't really want to go out and face these people do you) and told them I'd called the Police. They said they knew where I lived which I took as a threat and called the police.

One advantage of my x husband I'm on a panic number so the Police turned up very quickly , they took it seriously and did go to look for them. They have now also increased the patrols around by me again.

They're looking for magistrates here and I'm debating applying as they have already contacted me as they need some that are self-employed

well at 6.30 am I finally found my passport that I'd taken to London in may as I needed photo ID for my hotel. It normally lives at my mum's with everyone else's. At the weekend she reminded me I'd taken it :duh:

as you can imagine I've spent 3 days pulling my house apart and trying to work out when I could get to Newport as I go to France in 2 weeks. Anyway I can now go and have handed it back to mum she's more responsible than me.

See mum's are great aren't they :ta:

Then to make it even better Julian came through my letterbox ( yes i know we've been here before) thanks to Baggie who has sent me in her words" over 18 hours of JRT goodness to enjoy by the pool" :swoon:

Thanks Baggie :foru:
