Just head over to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 and search 'The Classic Serial'. It's up there for the next week.

The second part was brilliant. The minute they talked about the cliff path, I was willing it not to be Basil falling down it. I never thought I could be so caught up in a Radio Play.

Me again. Apparently JRT played the part of Hamlet in a live production on 19 June on Resonance Radio 104.4 FM.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be anywhere online to listen to this again - but I will continue to search.

Here's how I found out about it too late.

Scroll down a bit for a couple of JRT mentions and a very blurry picture of him in action.

Nor do not saw the air too much with your hand, thus. But use all gently. For in the very torrent, tempest, and, as I may say, whirlwind of your passion, you must acquire and beget a temperance that may give it smoothness (like yonder fair Julian Rhind Tutt). O, it offends me to the soul to hear a robustious periwig-pated fellow tear a passion to tatters, to very rags…..’

Awww yonder fair Julian Rhind Tutt :D

Thanks for the note on the Home page about the Afternoon Reading on Radio 4 today, Jools. 15 minutes of that heavenly voice! :D

Does anyone know if there's any way of listening to Basil? None of the links work anymore and it sounds really good.

Hmm, yes it looks like the links have got out of date...... We'll investigate over the next few days and try to get them working again!

Listened to it last night in bed. I think that was quite a bad idea (in the dark aswell) - Julian's voice can be quite haunting when he needs to be, especially paired with the music used in Basil. Very good play though.
