LWW Podcast

Postby faeriequeen » Tue Jul 24, 2007 11:40 pm

Just been browsing the big Tom Hollander group on Yahoo and it seems they've been a lot more pro-active than us in pestering the National about a podcast/vidcast of the Platform talk!

I want to keep you all updated on the National Theatre Podcast/Vidcast info.
This morning I got another email from Gavin, the Archivist there. They are so great on communication I can't believe it. He said that they are still collecting the permissions for the Cast Discussion Platform that we attended for Landscape with Weapon. BUT...before we get to SEE it we will be able to HEAR it.

You can go to the website and "Subscribe" to the podcasts and they will
automatically come to you. If you are unfamiliar with podcasts you are missing out on some great stuff. It is free and it is easy. The best way is to go to www.apple.com (no you don't have to be a Mac person) and get iTunes. Then check out the podcasting stuff. To get the NT Podcasts you need to go to the NT site to subscribe. There are lots of interesting ones already there (like one with Sam Mendes and Judi Dench).

Copy this link and then open iTunes.
http://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/rss.php?id=12
Then go the Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast.../paste link in box that opens up.

The LWW one is not there yet but will be eventually. : )
I am so excited to be able to share this with you. It will almost be like you
were there. One note though. Make sure you have headphones. The sound will be less than perfect as the actors did not have mics. They used a room mic. But I think with headphones you should be able to hear.

So that's some fab news! :D

Thats fantastic news FQ, I keep trawling the National podcast site for LWW, good to know its coming.
I should be able to put it up on esnips when its ready for anyone who can't be bothered loading Itunes etc.
Sounds like there will be a vidcast as well, which is even better!

Ooh, my iTunes just downloaded the podcast of the NT Platform with Paterson Joseph. Here's the link:

Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the LWW podcast will eventually turn up.

Just an update about the LWW vidcast, courtesy of someone on the Tom Hollander Yahoo Group once again:

I emailed Gavin at the NT Archive to ask him if was still going to happen. He replied that they are still waiting for permission from some of the participants and that agents are notoriously slow at this. They are writing again this week so there is still hope. You all have not idea what a treat this will be so send positive vibes that it will be approved soon.

I couldn't agree more about the positive vibes! *crosses fingers*
