I know it's on another thread, but, he'll be playing someone really unpleasant as 'Monck' in Oliver Twist on tv. Can't wait to see it at Christmas!

I'd love to see him play a real regular Joe of a family man. You know, wife, kids, bedtime stories, school runs, mortgage ......... the lot.

I agree, I always thought the scenes when he decided
to try and be a father to Mackenzie were very touching.
Especially as he hasn't taken that path in his private life
well only the mortgage part, he could read me bedtime
stories any day of the week ....... I do have trouble
getting to sleep!!

I need to vent for a bit, so please indulge me. I've just staggered in the door, having been away for a few days because of some work-related stuff. For the flight home, I was naturally seated right in front of a woman who felt the need to (a) read aloud the advice column from Cosmopolitan, (b) tell her fiance how she really needed a second engagement ring so she could give the first one to her mother(!), (c) ask her fiance 3 or 4 times if he really wanted to marry her, and (d) tell her fiance how she just couldn't get pregnant before the wedding, because if she did, she wouldn't be able to drink at the reception. As an added bonus, she also shared with our section of the plane precisely what method of birth control she was using.

Now on to the Julian-related section of this post. As soon as the flight attendant said that electronic equipment could be turned back on, the iPod was set to "Penguins Stopped Play", and the rest of the flight was spent in a lovely fraise-blonde colored haze. I also got to thinking, what other literary works would make good Julian audiobooks? Personally, I would love to hear him read some John Donne poetry. Anyone have other suggestions? And it doesn't have to be "quality" stuff. Remember, the dulcet tones can make anything sound good.

Am going to fall into bed now. Good night.

That was the flight from hell wasn't it. I once got upgraded because the couple pinning me to the window did nothing but argue on a flight to LA. Think at first they thought I was their kid but as soon as the steward realised I wasn't they moved me to the only available seat in business class

I've said this before but I'd love him to do an audio book of the Mr. Men as he'd do a much better job than I can when reading to mini mac think he'd be great on the bedtime hour too

He should do more Shakespeare audiobooks...I adore the ones I already have but apart from The Merchant of Venice he doesn't have very big roles in them so he needs to play someone like Hamlet!

ETA: It would also be awesome if he read a Doctor Who audiobook!

Just the thought of JRT reading The Sun Rising has made me go quite weak at the knees. I highly recommend it ladies.
