Heat of the Sun

Postby minimarsbar » Fri Nov 17, 2006 12:21 pm

I love him in this 3 part series - he is "so in control" of each situation he finds himself in, and he's a bit of a hero at times too :D AND he wears a uniform most of the time.

That's the one with Steve and Mr Bond, James Bond; isn't it?

It's ver' ver' good. A really good story and a wonderful cast.

Nah Steve and Mr Bond (Daniel Craig) is Sword of Honour, this one is with Trevor Eve I believe :)

Dang, I was just about to come back to correct myself there.

Well: I would recommend Sword of Honour! :P

I'll have to watch this 'Heat of the Sun' you speak of. But by the looks of the screencaps I know I won't like his hair. So that's put a dampener on things already.

I actually quite like his hair in this although it is very short. Give the prog a go Jennifer, he plays a really nice person and he's on screen quite bit. It's set in Africa in the 1930's and easy to watch.

Yes he was in this one, but quite near the end and only for about 2 minutes, episode 2 has him in it the most, although why they put Trevor Eve in pyjamas and not Julian is a travesity if you ask me! :?

So did anyone else watch this week's episode? I hadn't seen this for years and I love all the macho gun-waving, and the 'posh' voice. :D Good stories as well!

Yes, I caught the second half of it this week and thought it was good. Julian + uniform + rifle = grrrr!

Did you see that the boat featured towards the end was called SIMBA II? Presumably, even back then, Sue White was planning Simba I.

Did anyone else watch the last episode? I got a bit lost in all the plot twists but it was enjoyable anyway.

I thought we might see Julian on horseback as they were all riding at one point, but I didn't spot him. Maybe he doesn't do horses. And Trevor Eve got to ride the vintage motorbike, although it seemed to belong to James Valentine - pity we didn't see JRT on it.

Julian was on horseback for one very brief moment and seemed to be managing quite well, but I did notice that we didn't see him dismount. Yeh shame no Julian on the bike, but then we get to see him snoozing in the back of a car! ;)

...oh yes he was certainly on horseback & looked to be coping quite well ![ I say this as a seasoned horserider & not just a sycophantic JRT fan too!]
No shots of his dismounting tho- which may have been a giveaway that he isn't/wasn't too happy around our equine friends!!

I don't like or agree with guns, but boy did he look sexy holding that rifle?!!!

I've watched the scene in slow motion on the dvd and you can see him riding but not for very long. I suspect it wasn't him in the long shot of the gallup!

Just felt the need to resurrect this topic and say how much I *heart* his character in this...he's just so effortlessly cool and charming and I have to admit that I actually do quite like his hair! AND his prowess with firearms is rather alluring too...I'd certainly feel protected if I was with him!

Agree, FQ, I've always had a soft spot for James Valentine - all the charm without the smarm!

'The next one kills you.' Fab His hair is very fraise blonde in this but I really like the colour, haven't made my mind up about the length though

As my name suggests Mr Valentine is a particular favourite of mine. Love the hair colour and length.
Very proper, very stiff upper lip, very spiffing

It was Heat of the Sun that first started my interest (obsession) with Julian.
Fell in love with the character and with him!
