Surgery and Mac...
Hi I know this is a very strange subject, but I'm having spinal surgery in a week and I'm really nervous, so I was wondering....
Would people be kind enough to send good luck messages or words of advice/wisdom? I'm intending on putting them all in a book that I'm going to take in with me next week, and it would really mean a lot to me because you are all such lovely people.
The Mac thing in the title is because my surgeon has changed and he is the spitting image of JRT!!! I fell in love. I just hope that there wont be a wasp in theatre while im in there and everyone runs out the room.

Aw, bless! I had surgery many moons ago and I was nervous about it, too.
Look at it this way: you're going to have a lovely little nap and when you wake up you'll be as right as rain and not only will your family be there but Dr. Mac-a-like will be, too.
Oh, and so will we! - keeping your spot in the forum nice and warm for when you get back!

Yes good luck with the surgery Kayleigh...I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you! I've only had a general anaesthetic once and you drift off (they get you to do that counting down from 10 thing) and when they wake you up it feels literally like 2 seconds later, bit strange but it was totally fine.
And you are so lucky to have a Mac-alike as your surgeon...despite all the time I seemed to spend in hospital last university term I never saw any! But I'm friends with lots of med. students now so it's only a matter of time...
