i'll starrt with my amazing night at the russell howard gig!!! well there's not much to say except it was ofcourse amazing. we arrived only half an hour before, so the only seats left were the little tables at the very front where the chair legs are literally against the stage. i was soo disappointed
when russell came on he had just been outside aiting in the rain and thunder and lightning, so was soaking (when he sook his hair off a little bit it landed on me) and swore a lot
i thought that the whole thing was brilliant and of course hiliarious, he told lots of good stories and once again that boyish charm completely won me over (not that i needed to be won). his brother was in the audience as well and it was strange seeing how different they look!! you would never guess that they're brothers (or at least i wouldn't have).
Steve williams who was after him was also very good, but to be honest i can't remember much of him.
so yeah... that's it. please share other experiences, opinions, people we should find out more about etc.
i don't really know what to say now.... oh well.

And i'm his brother Bob.
Big fan of Russell Howard. Never seen him live. I rather suspect that the reason those front seats were free was because audience members in the front usually get "picked on" by the comic - sounds like you had a lucky escape!
I'm off to Jongleurs Comedy Club in Cardiff in August for a friend's hen do so I'll let everyone know how that goes.

Ooohhh Chi been there done that. Jongluers Cardiff, now thatis an expience. You'll be seated according to how early you booked, so if you booked first you'll be at the front if you booked later you'll be at the back. When I went it wa full of hen nights and stag do's, oh yeah and the odd group of firemen and royal airforce blokes. By the end of the night I came to the conclusion that the only sober people in the place were the staff the comedians (of which there were 3 and a compare) and me n' Jools. Anyway you should have a good time. Oh yeah and the smoking ban...what a joy, you'll be able to eat your meal without choking on someone's ciggie smoke

May I commend you on your impeccable taste? I saw him live on his Part Troll tour - he is such a dynamo of comic/musical talent.
The highlight of the evening was when he turned the BBC news theme into a really cool dance mix - now whenever we hear it, my husband and I jump around and wave our arms like a pair of loons in a club!!!

Haha! How very 'Sue White' of you!
I love Bill Bailey, but sadly couldn't risk getting tickets for the November show, because I didn't know where I'd be, starting university and all. I couldn't really trek to Birmingham on my own! Sadface. I do, however, compulsively watch BB stand up on DVD - and subsequently end up humming 'The Owl Song' in my exams ...
Oh my gosh, Russel Howard is assum. Glad you gad a good time ali! Like I ranted about before, I couldn't make any of the dates, and I can't make any of Adam Hills' either. Pants.
Actually, I was looking for the ONLY Adam Hills DVD in existance, and found it on ABC's Austrailian site. It was about 14 dollars, and I thought 'great!', until I realised the postage was another 15 dollars ... *facepalm*

Marinewarden - I have been looking longingly at the Latitude Festival as well, mainly because Jarvis Cocker is playing, but there are some great comedy acts as well... I was hoping for a day ticket but they are definitely sold out on Saturday and Sunday - last time I looked Friday was still available and that is when Bill Bailey is appearing!
Otherwise it is a weekend ticket (still available I think) but that is £112

Ooh dear that's a lot of money. I would love to see Bill Bailey live. I loved his Part Troll tour when they showd it on telly. I have seen him in Pinters People which was a selection of comedy sketches written by Harold Pinter, he was in it with Sally Phillips (arrghh evil Holly) and he was very good.

Probably showing my age here but Stewart Lee is amazing live. Went to see him back in the days of Lee and Herring and haven't been able to listen to All things bright and beautiful since without me and my sister peeing ourselves with laughter.
Which was a bit unfortunate at our great aunts funeral, the second my mum saw it on the service sheet she knew she was in trouble. It was a bit like the giggle loop in couplings think I just about managed to make it look like I was sobbing hysterically

Went to see Rhod Gilbert last night in Worchester. He was previewing his Edingburgh Festival show 'Who's Eaten Gilberts Grape'. It was very funny and I had a really good night. Of course me n' Jools were making out own jokes up whilst we we're waiting for it to start, so we were already having a good old giggle
