Yeah I think you're right a bit about the whole Mac-sidelined-for-Holly thing. I think it was more of a way of showing how understated Mac himself became when he thought that his life was not as it seemed - it kind of threw him as a character off a bit - so it kinda worked. Plus it gave way for showing the whole Caroline v. Holly thing =P
I think my favourite Caroline-Mac moments though are probably a) the scene in the theatreish bit after Caroline embarrassed herself in front of Emmy ("Oh yes, C..." )
and b) (best bit ever) "Do you want me to apologise verbally, or physically?" that bit always turns me to mush XD

Another classic (scene) - S1 E9:
Guy: "God there SHE is.."
He "cowers" down in his seat trying to hide from Joanna
Mac :(in a David Attenborough voice) "The hunter spots his prey....but there is a problem; a herd of tottie is sticking together, making it hard to target any one individual......he's in luck; the herd is split, leaving one creature alone....and vunerable, she's older and weaker than the rest....this surely is his best chance?"
Guy : " F**K OFF!"
Mac : " The hunter will tolerate NO interruption to his marticulous preparations....he waits........and then HE STRICKS..."
Guy leaps over the back of the seat and clutches his back in pain..."Ow, OWWWWW!"
He does SUCH A GOOD IMPRESSION OF David Attenborough - I have to watch it over and over again!

don't know if its already been mentioned, but i love the "i love you too" scene with the birthday card... *wanders off into daydream*
Not being funny, but...isn't it the "signing" of Angela's leaving card when the whole Caromac "I love you, I love you too" scene goes on, rather than a birthday card? Pretty sure it is..
I'll have to check this scene out now just to make sure I got it right but I'm pretty sure I have but we'll see...

marinewarden you are indeed correct.
Love the David Attenborough(??) scene and the apology one and the one when Caroline has made a tit of her self and the little smile he does at the end of the scene when Caroline has tried to out Emily as a fraud and............. lets face it if Mac's in it I love it

I love the I love you leaving card scene especially the way Caroline flicks the shuttlecock of her books when she goes to put the card down, it'a the little smile of joy she has, especially as mac is trying to be cool by jumping over the furniture on his way to the bathroom, where I do believe he finds Martin taped to the wall

Just watching series two (yet again for the "umpteenth" time!) and I noticed towards the end of epsisode one, when Caroline realises Mac knows nothing about the accident..:
"What Accident?"
Caro : " Bollocking Sh*tbags!..."
...he is flinches when she "flips out" and also he has a sneaky peek at her bum....ay cheeky boy! now is that meant to be in the script I wander or do you think he couldn't resist a peek?!
Well afterall, he is only human - I'd certainly check his arse out! In fact I'm certain I did, a few times, when I went to see LWW - could not resist!

Just been going through this topic doing some pruning and I really feel I have to add how much I love the fact that the first thing he does when he walks into the bathroom is to check his hair in the mirror to see if it's ok! *hearts*
I love the scene where Mac finds out he's dying. Not because I was pleased he was dying. Obviously. Or because it was funny. Jut because I think it's so perfect! I always rewind it and watch it over and over. "Fuck.. Fuck.. and Fuck"
So cute!!
And I'm the same with the one where he tells Guy he's dying in the special!
Any Caromac kiss is amazing too!!
Favourite Scenes with comedic value:
They've already been mentioned but I love the one where Guy is doing his community service "Wankaaahhh" "I'm a portaaaahhh" etc etc
Martin with his yo-yo routine
And the deleted scence/outtake with Guy singing "Your Song" to Caroline in the car is hilarious.
I love how Tamsin and Steve both laugh at the end.
Plus..Anything with Sue White is generally hilarious.

Mac: How are the people of Insania without their Mighty Queen?
Sue White: Oh well you know, they're alright. I left them post-it notes with instructions.
