My favourites are regional accents, the cereal fight - ****ing hug! and Mac recreating the bathroom scene it is so hot as Paris Hilton would say.

I don't know how you can choose a favourite, I love all the scenes that are mentioned above, I guess I just love any scene with Mac in it!

My favourite Mac and Caroline scenes are the 'complete fabrication' scene because at the end he gives her the biggest smile when he usually just half smiles. If I was Caroline then I would have just jumped on him!
I also love the minimars bar scene because of what insn't said (brilliant writing) and you just want to slap them and tell them to sort themselves out!

Otherwise I love Statham and Boyce, although the phone call in the Special is very upsetting!

The keyboard scene with Guy makes me laugh out loud each time I see it.

Actually you are all right there are too many good bits just to choose a few!

Oh I love the keyboard scene. It's so hilariously done.
I also really liked the bit where Mac lays the "trap" for Holly and she tries to kiss him and he shoved his hand in her face. I was so pleased when he did that. I was like, "Yes!! HAHA We all hate you!" and then i camed down. :P
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

i remember when we found out about Mackenzie being Mac and Holly's "son" i screamed so much and with the poker kiss
And at the end of episode 8 i threw stuff at the television when Guy came through the smoke

Folks, it's all coming back to me now....

I've managed to avoid watching GW for ages now - mainly due to other people hogging the DVD player - but I feel a GW fest coming on......

Hmm. Could I please ask you something? In the past, I've felt that Mac's part was not the best written in the episodes with Holly in them - I think she runs over three. Of course, this could have been to do with my outrage over the whole Holly business, but I would be interested to know what you think about it. Everyone else seemed to have the most fantastic scenes, and I just felt that Mac was pushed to the sidelines a bit.

Who can forget Guy and the keyboard? Caroline in her nightie-sorry- dress? Sue, just being Sue?

It could be that when I view them again I could completely change my mind.

I'd be very interested in your thoughts. And it would be an excuse to watch those particular episodes again, of course!

Many thanks

This is way I don't like series 2 as much as 1. Mac does sort of fades out as he does on his bike at the end. His perforance is so much more understated than the rest. Series one was a build up to Caroline and the rest of us falling in lovewith him and then....
I didn't like them trying to make him more unpleasant and the reverse for Guy. It didn't really work for me. I rarely watch series 2 but 1 I can watch all day every day.

I dunno...I think Mac's scenes where he takes the piss out of Alan are pretty memorable! The whole "Who you calling a parrot snatch?" scene is brilliant! But yeah, I think he was sidelined a bit in the Holly episodes as it was more about her and Caroline fighting over him.

i agree with JRT Patch and Mac Valentine! i thought that too - some of the stuff they did to Mac! made me feel propa sad i tell ya..espesh at the end of Ep 8 Series 2 when they didn't give him long to live! that went a bit far! it cast a shadow over the Special i thought - i know its not real (i take it so serieously lol!) but it was well sad. although i love all of GW - i have to say i love Series 1 because of the first few sparks of the romance between Caro & Mac i think it was brilliantly done - but also cos they have such great chemistry too. one of my fave scenes is the one with the remote control car and he puts his arm round her to show her the controls..and they end up staring at each other and looking away quickly..aww
im doin really well at the mo trying to keep myself from watching it all again! i don't know how long thats going to last! (ive lost count how many times i've watched the special!)

I agree with you about Mac being neglected as a character during the Holly episodes, patch, as I thought we didn't get enough about how he tried to adjust to suddenly being the dad of a four year old, what with his distinctly un-chilldfriendly bachelor pad and all (that big cactus and a small child - you're just asking for trouble!).

But I thought the writers did well with showing how Caroline was trying to move on and go out with someone new and it just wasn't working. Also, I felt they had to focus a bit more on Guy so that we could see that he really was falling in love with Caroline. I guess they could only squeeze so much into the episodes, more's the pity - I could just watch hours and hours of Green Wing, even if it wasn't deemed suitable for public broadcast.

And it's impossible for me ever to choose a favourite scene, it changes with the weather.

Personally I think all scenes should have had mac in them not that I biased.

Think I read to much into the cactus I had it as more as a phalic (??????) symbol.

Take it that was just me

Okay, here's another: the "zoom and whoosh"/"words that are quick"/ bum-baring trouser scene. Largely because (a) it's funny - duh! :duh: and (b) Julian looks super-beautiful and gets all indignant and tosses his gorgeous flaxen hair, etc., etc.
