glad you had a great time and managed to compose yourself in time to meet the man himself. What did you say? you've got us all intrigued now.

Didn't notice Tom doing that when I went , was probably distracted by someone else, will have to keep a better eye when I go again

Lol I haven't notice Tom doing that either - and I do pay him quite a lot of attention as I quite like him too (blasphemy! ) - but I do remember that he scratches his head and legs a bit?

And yes...out with the quote, woman! :P

Thought I'd add my comments about yesterday. Another great chance to meet up with old and new friends.

We met in Pizza Express as has become traditional, for lunch and headed over to the Cottesloe where we met Mac V and her lovely understanding husband, Simon.

The play was great as always, although as Rosie has already commented Tom had a cold and I think it made it a bit difficult for him - there was a lovely moment when he coughed - it was a real cough, and 'Lenny' gave him some coffee - very well done! I will perhaps head over to the review section later, but Pippa has worked wonders with her role even since the last time I saw her.

After the performance we headed around to the Stage Door and after a few minutes Julian appeared. There were quite a few other fans (non forums) and it was good to chat to them as well. Julian was lovely and charming as ever and everyone behaved beautifully, including Mac V's husband, Simon, who shook Julian's hand with great grace (and restraint probably!! :D)

We went for a drink in the National afterwards, where Spence just couldn't resist going to say hello to Victoria Wood, then everyone dispersed home. I went on to see Philistines, which is previewing at the National at the moment (good btw) and then home. Another great day.

As for Spence's comment it was very funny, although nothing to do with Julian.... Whether it was overtaken by Julian's pained expression as he explained the trouser splitting incident is debatable :D

All I said was " This pizza is the best pizza I have ever had in my whole life" it was a bit like " All I said was this piece of Halibut is good enough for Jehova"...... classic Monty Python...... everyone dissolved into laughter, but seriously next time you find yourself in Pizza Express have a Pedana Pizza!

Oh that's so cool you had a good time!!!
Only 24 hours and I'll be sitting there in that same theatre - front row - whooo!!! I'm going to explode.
I hope i get to see them afterwards. I'm going to make a Tshirt with my green wing manga on it and I'm going to try ask Julian and Pippa to sign it. Hurrah! :P
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

Hello everyone, just got back. I am no longer a LWW virgin.
I have had the best weekend ever. Thank you so much to Chatterbox and Baggie for getting us an audience. :foru:
It was so lovely to meet the ladies, you were all lovely and took Hubby and I under your collective wings with great kindness.
Julian was fantastic and he met us wearing his own bikers jacket  He is even better in the flesh. I had the pounding heart and knocking knee feeling but managed to keep it together for my cuddle and photo. Ididn't see Hubby shake his hand and he has washed it since.
The play was very good and I was impressed with all four performances. Tom Hollander was fantastic whatever he was doing down his shorts. Obviously the crowning moment was the splitting of JRT'S trousers.
I am so chuffed with my photo. I definitely have an inner glow. Hubby took a few photos of the proceedings and hopefully we will be able to put them on line to add to the forum collection.

Obviously the crowning moment was the splitting of JRT'S trousers.

Did I miss something? Definitely need to know the full details on that one! May I ask...er, where? Or is that too naughty?

saw it again tonigh with my mum and sister and it was fab :)
the actors have really developed their characters and i thought that jason has improved a lot.
i saw tara summers in the audience :) wasnt sure if it was her at first but then during the interval i was standing right next to her and it was her and it was really sweet at the end when the actors came out and did a bow because she kept beaming at julian bless her hehe.
also rachel weisz was there!
during the second half there was something wrong with the sound system because it just made this loud buzzing noise and it was the scene with julian and jason and so kept making jokes and it was very funny hehe
and then they had to try and calm theirselves down and they got muddled up
and then later on when Brooks says about constantly hearing sound, everyone kept laughing because of what happened earlier and Julian told everyone to just go along with it

afterwards i couldnt stay long because of the train times but i got to meet julian again. he came running out and said sorry to everyone and he was obviously in a rush but he still signed stuff and he remembered me! :D so i was very happy about that hehe. my mum said that she took a pic of me & julian but then later on i looked on the camera and the pics weren't there! so i was annoyed at that :(
but we are going again so hopefully the camera will work next time haha! :P

Haha that sound thing sounds very amusing...I love it when actors have to ad-lib around problems!
And Rachel Weisz must've been there to see Tom as they were friends at Cambridge I think, and it's nice that Tara Summers and Julian still seem to be on good terms with each other. :)

Grenniespex the trousers split on his perfect bottom and we were treated to a hint of white pants. Apparently it happened 10 seconds before he was due to come on so he carried on like the trooper he is or is that exhibitionist
Its such a joy that each performance is so different. Everyone gets their own unique version, we got split pants, pingu got the sound system and the celeb spotting is a real bonus.

well he was obviously wearing different suit pants, which might have been a bit too big because he kept pulling them up!

I didn't know you were there last night aswell, pingu :D

I saw it again with my friend and Linka Neo from this here forum. We met at Waterloo station and made our way to the theatre. We were some of the first people there so we sat down and had a nice chat. We were in the front row and it has really improved since I saw one of the previews. It seems they really know their characters now.

The sound problem was very amusing, everyone was just laughing all the way through it. And the fact that the lines afterwards were about hearing constant sound made it even funnier.

Afterwards we went round to the stage door and chatted to Julian, got pictures and met Jason Watkins for the first time (lovely man!) then me and my friend stayed with four other girls to wait for Pippa and Tom. We waited ages and eventually were allowed in to the stage door reception until he came down. :D It was a great evening meeting some lovely new people!
Roll on June 29th!

Jools - Were you there last night? Because he ran over to someone and shouted "Jools! You're amazing!" and kissed her on the cheek. Me and Lucy (Linka Neo) thought it might've been you....

I think he's getting used to us all going along to see the play now. He actually recognised me on Saturday and even rembered how to spell my name.....which is kinda worrying, i'm just waiting for the restraining order to wing it's way through the post now. :P

Haha yeah it's kind of bad in a way isn't it? But then I figure we may not get another chance to talk to him again like this for a while so we may as well make the most of it!

thats how I feel to FQ, anyone get the idea he secretly enjoys it after waiting so long for such recognition.

Plus we're all total angels when we're there. At least he's got intelligent (until we speak to him) well behaved stalkers
