It wasn't so much that they were pretentious, more that they seemed to completely miss the heart of the play, and focus on irrelevancies. Yes, there were jokes about 'the Americans' but I took those to be about the government and defence agencies, not a whole people. And, as others have already said, criticising the audience when they had gone on press night seemed particularly absurd! But, they did show a little bit of the play, so all (ok, most) is forgiven.

I completely agree chatterbox! Also saying there is no debate about weapons manufacture is absurd!!
