Black Books

Postby shootingstars » Mon Jun 05, 2006 7:03 pm

I think he's really good in Black Books. He's only in one episode but he looks damn hot and he's funny - which is always a bonus! The outtakes are funny as well when he gets his words muddled up <3

It's great how in the next outtake he tries to emphasise the words but still gets it wrong!
I may be many things, but not being indiscreet isn't one of them.

Enjoy

Well having got over the blip of the boxed set release date being moved to August  and cancelling one order and ordering the whole lot from HMV (only £5.99 each bargin) I have been having a Black Books lovefest over the past few days.

I love Fran. In fact I love Bernard as well, funny how I go for men with floppy hair at the moment :? Anyway, favorite bits. Ummmm

The little book of calm being digested by Manny
all the JRT bits
all the Fran bits, but particularly the Hen Night

In fact, every single episode had me laughing out loud, and that doesn't happen very often these days when watching a comedy.

Am off to watch it all over again now. I may be some time.

*DEAD*
Finally got hold of Series 3, and have been re-watching episode five countless times ...
He. Is. Beautiful.
I love how everybody falls in love with him after speaking to him for about ten seconds - I'm pretty sure I'd melt into a similar puddle of giggling goo, just like Manny/Fran/Bernard.
Perfect casting there methinks!

Also, his outtakes are hilarious ... bless his floppy hair.

Alsoalso, I HAVE THE SAME SCARF AS JRT IN THIS!!

I'm watching it again right now. Not that I'm obsessed or anything. Actually, this is a JRT forum, I'm allowed to be obsessed!! *swoons*

Haha! I actually first encountered JRT on Black Books all those years ago (all 3 :o ) but i couldn't see it. I'm a Dylan Moran fangirl and all of my friends on the forum kept going on about JRT in Green Wing and then i watched it and i was like:

"Oh.....

... :lv: !!!

Ho hum. I have all three series of Black Books on DVD. It's one of my favourite series ever. I am so jealous of you and your mint aunt. My aunt has no sense of humour.

I met Dylan Moran. Twice. His tour manager liked me and my friend and let us into his gig at Newcastle last June for free. Whoo! In Edinburgh he gave me a hug. whee!

I think I'm going to fit in here just fine.

Ah, Black Books is love on toast.

That is such a brilliant turn of phrase.

I knew I'd fit in here. When I met Dylan in Edinburgh, it was before the show, I accidentally found him on a fag break while i was trying to find the stage door so I knew where to go after the show (Oh, the irony). My mate GRant had to prod me before I could form a sentence. He was really nice though, if a little bemused; "Why is there a strange girl in a tiny waistcoat and bright pink trousers jumping?" i think was his main thought. He signed my season one DVD and we were talking for about 5 minutes. When we first went over his bodyguards gave me a weird look - but them wnet indoors. It was so weird. Then he got called in for a sound check. I nearly exploded. Wheeee!!!

Hehe! I would've been exactly the same - the only famous people I've ever met were Ant & Dec when I was twelve, and I was so speechless that my dada had to speak for me!

A CIGARETTE BREAK?! He smokes all the way through the show - how does he need a cigarette break?! :D

Awwh, he seems like a nice guy - maybe my friends just caught him on a bad day (or maybe the overwhelming dullness of being in Stoke-on-Trent had finally got to him!)

In Scotland it's illegal to smoke indoors so he wasn't allowed to during the show (It didn't stop him coming on stage with no less than 23 cigarrettes sticking out of his mouth, though =P). Made it easy for me though! lolsicles.

I've met loads of people since June. Every gig i go to i try and catch the people after the show. I talked to Ross Noble for have an hour and Mitchell and Webb declared me their official photographer for the evening. That was a good day. Russell Brand is really weird in real life. Even more weird than on stage. He snogged a girl just cos she asked; it was gross =P

I'm going to see Jo Brand on the 9th of April. That'll be well cool.

I think Dylan was probably rude to your friend that night cos he'll have been tired after the show: it really takes it out of you.

My mam doesn't fancy David Tennant because she thinks "although he is arguably very cute i feel he probably has very tiny nipples."

*dies laughing* That is one of the best things I've ever, ever heard. Sounds like an investigation needs to be had ... ;)

Mitchell and Webb declared me their official photographer for the evening

:O .....
WOW, that's too cool for school! Mega jealous :D I was nattering away about Mitchell and Webb with some friends t'other day, and we came to the conclusion that we kind of fancy both of them, just a little bit.

From what you've said about Russel Brand, my impression of him has not been helped any. He's quite funny, but seems a bit sleazy in real life.

I'd love to have met all these people, but I inevitable end up not being able to. I'm insanely jealous of the people from the forum who have met JRT before, because I can never go to the signings or anything! Sadface.

p.s. I also met David Tennant in a dream. he came to do a books signing [?] at my house [???] :D

My quest for photographic evidence of DT's nipples has so far proved fruitless!

Damn. lolololol!!!!! my mam says, "Oh no, What have I started?!"

Jennifer, yes I was at the Edinburgh Festival gig last august!!! That was the one! I was there on the 9th, i was in the fourth row. It was brilliant. He threw cherry pips at my friend Peter who was sat next to me! :D
Which date were you on? If you were there on the 9th as well, you may have seen me, i was quite conspicuous due to my bright pink trousers and my badge that said "BERN". Many people commented on that badge. It was most amusing.
Ho hum. Happy memories. I met this girl when i was there. She was a real, freak-out stalker to the extent that she'd found out his address and went. Its one thing to wait outside a stagedoor but i think anything more than that it's really not right. She really freaked me out. Ho well. she's gone now anyway, she was from America.

:o

You're right Linka, standing outside the stage door is one thing, but anything more than that into the lives of someone like that is just scary :?
I know where a celebrity lives, only because its near me, and when i met him he told me where it was  . i had also read before the name of the house, and therefore knew it, but i dont think i would have gone to the effort of trying to find out if he hadn't told me. He is one of my favourite actors of all time, so knowing he lives around the area i do is really cool 8) but i haven't gone to the house since i found out.

p.s: these photos of David Tennant should be quite interesting when found...
ALAN : And I'll discuss this with you when you're less-
MAC : Handsome?
ALAN : No, less-
MAC : Charming?
ALAN : Less sitting. Get out.

Black Books commentary would be LOVE. I'd love to hear if they all actually immediately fall in love with Julain/Jason ... I bet they did.

I'm guilty of listening to GW commentaries over and over - "it's his voice, it just does things to me ..." (hehe, had to get a BB quote in there!)

Dylan Moran is drunken Irish lovecakes. He's hilarious - I have a strange infatuation with Bernard Black ... and his adorable facial expressions! "I can feel pieces of my brain falling away like a wet cake" - omglolrofletc.

Hehee. I watched Travel Writerlast night in bed.
I love the bit where Manny was brooding over Fran getting to go -
"It was the whole point point of me being born."
"[sad face] Oh, I know.
But he picked me!"

lolsicles.

I love Bernard. He's brilliant.

"Go forward, past the tables. Then take a left at the mouldy George Eliot, then right, right, keep going.... and left... at the dead badger."

Black Books

Postby marinewarden » Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:16 pm

Just seen the "travel writer" episode of Black books and......FWOAR! - Jules looks particularly hot in this particular role...tell you this, I'd be his travelling buddy anyday.....I certainly wouldn't mind "bunking up" with him!

Guess I need a cold shower now but not before, another look at him as the gorgeous, lurve-lee "Jason" (god anyone would think I was obsessed?! Nay not me! Hehe)
