Music

Postby LinkaNeo » Fri Mar 30, 2007 9:38 pm

I was just curious about everyones music tastes, as curlybeach seemed pleased at me going to see the Proclaimers this November (Yeah baby, second row-centre, we have a high stage at City hall so it's better in 2nd/3rd rows:P) which I am hugely excited about. I'm going to take my tin whistle.
I thought it better to move the conversation to here incase Jools got annoyed about disorganised topic discussion and start a whole new thread. Whee.

I'm going to see Ben Mills (from last years X Factor) this year too. My other favourite bands include Muse, Radiohead, Snow Patrol, the Kooks, the Pixies, the Kinks, Evermore and Embrace. I'm quit partial to a lot of country too, like the Dixie Chicks and Joni Mitchell. I have hugely varied musical tastes.

Ooh, and as of late I have to admit I quite like the new, reformed, slightly less hammy Take That. I wanted to kill them in the nineties but now they're properly clothed and less dripping in cheese they're good. Gary Barlow still needs a slap though.
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

I must warn everyone, I have inherited the majority of my taste in music from my father, and I am VERY much stuck in the nineties ... *points to self* dork!

I very love ... The Lightening Seeds, Madness, Bon Jovi, The Divine Comedy, The Feeling, The Pipettes, The Fratellis, Jamie Cullum, Tim Hughes, The Automatic, James , The Proclaimers and Kaiser Chiefs.

I'm also partial to a bit of ... Pulp, Blur, Rialto, Suede, Boy Kill Boy, Travis, Take That, Funeral for a Friend, Train, MIKA, KT Tunstall, Hundred Reasons, The Used, ELO, Manic Street Preachers, Muse, Sum 41, All American Rejects, Maroon 5, Def Leppard, Yellowcard, Alkaline Trio, McFly, and probably lots more I can't remember!

I like going to gigs and such, but I always think that moshing and getting crushed ruins the expereince, rather than enhances it! Best gig I've ever seen ... Bon Jovi at the city of Manchester Stadium with 60,000 people, or the Lightening Seeds at my local venue with 300, and my Dad :D

Since Green Wing I've really gotten into the Kinks. They own the world.
