i've joined only last week or so and only now have read this thread so may be im late but anyways.
I think because Julian has no personal website it would be better to keep this domain open with all this valuable information it gives.
I can help with coding of main website in case if it is needed. ( I see that forum technically works just fine)
Ideally, to make updates of main website more easy, it is better to have CMS-based website.
May be you have heard about WordPress for example, or Drupal and TextPattern. (you know for sure that all blogging programms are in fact CMS)
So baisically, they have admin area - a dashboard where you can easy control the look and content of the pages and dont bother yourself wiith all techincal stuff at the same time. All CMS have a lots of plugins - build in photo galleries and so on.
Another possibillity would be to recode HTML removing the tables with CSS layout - it will give a clean code and the pages which are very easy to update.

 I wont bother you further with more technical stuff . But if you need help, let me know. Cheers

Hey - I didn't realise that it was this tough. I'm not especially rich but occassionally I have pennies spare so I probably wouldn't be too annoyed about paying a subscription fee.
But
I have a better idea, too - Donations is a great idea but I'm really good at IT, I can code/maintain websites and used to (a while ago) run my own server as a host reseller (basically i buy bandwidth at wholesale price which is basically pennies and sell it on to other people) I never publicised though so never actually did anything with it. What it does mean though is that give me the word and I can give you practically unlimited storage space, bandwidth and access (you'll even be able to keep the phpBB board), with the domain name, for about twelve quid a year. If my server's still running.

..Yeah. I checked. It is. ;)
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

I knew you can manage.
And who helped to find? As Sue White said: Me, Me, Me....

 you know i go singing once a week in kind of choir ( rather small one) and after i saw Sue White singing this "Me, Me ..." thing, it became my fav. weekly voice exercise
