I think the general rule on this board is that it's good netiquette to use full english in posts.

And I don't mean the breakfast.

Just putting it out there. :-)

Anyone else watch the Secret Policeman's Ball tonight? What a disappointment, no Green Wing Sketch. I didn't find the show very funny at all, considering its supposed to be the cream of our comedians. The other sketch with Steve & Julian was good though, Julian was fantastic, and he did get a huge cheer when he came on. I thought his hair looked wonderful!

I was wondering whether I had missed the GW sketch, so it's good to know that I've not got to sit through the recording again looking for it. You're right Ducatilady, Julian's hair did swish beautifully when he did his death scene....shallow?....me?

I'm So ANGRY at my Telly!

I watched the show - I actually thought it was pretty funny - considering its charity and never as good as thre real thing. I loved the Cludo sketch but.... my telly threw a wobbly just as Julian walked in!

By the time I got the picture back he was lying on the floor, hair swished back, candlestick in hand!

Can anyone get it up on youtube for me? Pretty please :foru:

I can't believe there was no GW sketch!! i sat there and waited all night and at the end, i couldn't believe it wasn't there! I think bits of the night were good, but they had some pretty bad comedians on there. The cludo sketch was so good! :D I loved it because most of the people i love were on there! like Richard E Grant, i met him last year. Jo Brand is also really funny. But the added class was of course SM and JRT!!!! When he walked through the door in his little green outfit (bless his little cotton socks!) he looked really quite fine  hehehe! ahhhhhh, his hair... 8) And he did that little modest smile when everyone cheered. Other than that, your right, ducatilady, it was a bit of a disappointment.
Question; they're bringing out a DVD of the event. Will that have the GW sketch on it? I would love to see the whole thing of it. Because in the radio times this week, theres a picture of some of GW doing a sketch for the Ball. so there must be one out there floating around...anyone know when its out:?:

I only managed to watch a bit of it but taped it all. I did see the cludo sketch and thought it was quite funny. When the American woman had done her 'funny stuff' my husband turned to me and said, "well if she's the cream of the American comedy circuit I dread to think what the rest are like!" I agreed, she was terrible. I had intended running through the video at lunch time but I now know there is no point. I can't beleive they left out the GW piece. It was on channel 4 for goodness sake- the GW channel! :(

Exactely! She was terrible! I sat there and cringed as she reeled off these jokes that the audience (and people at home obviously) didn't find funny, and she just kept going! But then again, i wasn't really paying much attention after the cludo sketch, because i was too busy waiting for the GW sketch! And yeah, how can they not show their own wonderful C4 comedy? dear oh dear...

Apparently Green Wing does feature on the DVD Someone on ebay has a copy and says the following:
Featuring never-before-seen collaborations, brand new sketches, explosive stand-up, off-stage performances and surprise ingredients. An edited version of the show has been broadcast by Channel 4 and now a much longer version plus a wealth of extras has been released on DVD,

The DVD version boasts extended footage of all the performances featured in the TV broadcast and several acts from the show that will be seen for the first time, including stand-up from Dylan Moran, Omid Djalli’s hilarious Diary Of A Dictator sketch and an on-stage ‘operation’ performed by the cast of Green Wing.
