Well Rosie and I went to see Venus today at the London Film Festival and we bumped into Tutt-Sweet there, so we had a very nice mini-meet!!
Good news is this is a very good film, and we all enjoyed it very much..... You guessed it, there's some bad news......... Julian is nowhere to be seen, unless you count the sighting we all thought we had of the back of his head!!!! I'm sure the others will tell you more, but I'm off to drown my sorrows now

To add to what Chatterbox has said, yes it was a good film with lots of funny and poignant moments - but no Julian!
The scene where we thought we saw the back of him (it really did look like his hair!) was set in a bar/club and he was sitting at the same table as the two main characters, so perhaps there had been some dialogue there that had been cut.
Our only forlorn hope is that perhaps the version we saw is not the final edit - but as the film's already been released in Canada and is due out in the States shortly, that seems highly unlikely.
Grrrr!

To add to what Chatterbox & Rosie [ to you both] have said...yes it was a lovely film, & very poignant. There were some very funny scenes & some that also brought a tear to the eye. Peter O'Toole was just magnificent [when isn't he?]
The main thing that brought a tear to my eye however, was the non appearance of Our Hero ...except for a nice shot of the back of his head & those gloriously cute fraise-blond locks! Like Chatterbox & Rosie I'm certain it was him , & yet again he seems to have ended up on the cutting room floor. One can only hope he was paid handsomely for his brief appearance !
Let's hope he features more in Stardust- tho' sadly I think we've quite a wait til that comes out .

kinda off topic, but the part in stardust wont be big, but they can't cut him as he is one of the seven ghosts, and although it isn't a large part of the story, it is an integral part. fantastic book if you haven't read it...neil gaiman is always worth reading.........
come with me now on a journey through time and space

Not quite sure that this is for a forum about JRT, but nice to see that one of his fellow actors, lovely Peter O'Toole, has been nominated for a BAFTA for his superb & poignant performance in 'Venus'.
Not bad for a 74 year old eh. to him I say!
