Reckless

Postby ducatilady » Sun Nov 05, 2006 11:00 pm

I've looked on Amazon for the Reckless dvd but it only seems to be available from the U.S.A. does anyone know why? as it was a UK television series to start with.

I got mine off ebay but it was a copy made to play region 2 (I knew that before I bought it). It's from the American Mystery tv series they show over there. It's extremely annoying in parts because you have someone famous explaining to you between each episode what's happening (as though all viewers are thick!)
It's the same company that released heat of the sun.

Just checked, the American company is actually called Masterpiece Theatre.
I've re-watched the watched the opening "explanation".
I quote: At first you may think it's going to be story of tender family relationships
Then you are aware that a comedy is in progress
Then it suddenly seems like a suspense strory of an unlikely love affair
that may have explosive consequenses.
Then the whole things diverts into farce. All this in just the first 2 hour installment
A word of caution to anyone wanting a little moral uplift - reckless is a show you watch purely for fun.
England is a world where everyone has a cellphone which they use at the drop of a hat to cause havock and mayhem.

I won't go on. Obviously the American audience can not work out the above for themselves.
The annoying bloke pops up regularly between scenes with his little 'explanations' of what you've just seen and are about to see next.

Just spotted that Reckless will be released in the UK on DVD on 14th May. Hopefully without annoying Americans!

My copy is an ancient VHS video, so I may have to reinvest
