" A few very charming ladies down at my Dad's whist drive have been very kind (average age 75-93). My brother is the headmaster of a special school and I know some of his dinner ladies have been very kind to me as well. "

Re: Julian in The Hour
There's a big article on The Hour in the Daily Mail of 4 June.
No specific mention of Julian, except in the captions of not one but TWO close up photos of him in character as Angus. Just scroll down to find them. He's definitely well-disguised, and perfectly in period, but you can see Julian shining through ...

I'm looking forward to it.
And btw, wrong thread, but I LOVED Julian's funny performance in Any Human Heart.

The article's in the Mail on Sunday's 'Live' magazine today, for those requiring a print version.

Re: Julian in The Hour
Be nice if it coincided with Julian's birthday! Looking forward to it hugely.

Yes, I caught the ad too Kath. Looks very promising.......even without the 'Lion's Mane' & Julian wearing specs!

Re: Julian in The Hour
oooooh, exciting! Horn-rimmed glasses I always found hilarious though. I'm glad I caught the news of this in time. We must keep a look out for transmission dates. Usually they announce the dates at least a few weeks before airing even with new series. May we expect a Radio Times article, d'you think?
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

Re: Julian in The Hour
I thought it was excellent too & a certain someone caught a reviewer's eye too! .....................
I certainly agree that there wasn't enough of him on screen, but hopefully that will improve in future episodes.
"There are big names and familiar faces all over the place in The Hour, but the star of the show has to be Green Wing's Julian Rhind-Tutt, who plays the prime minister's slime-ball press secretary Angus McCain. I think JR-T must have prepared for the role by watching a lot of footage of Peter Mandelson, and copied him as closely as possible, adding a bit of extra Gollum for good measure. It's fabulous, and there's not nearly enough of him in episode one. Let's hope that changes"
