DVD Signing - updates/experiences

Postby Jools » Tue Oct 03, 2006 8:06 am

Hi Guys
Thought I'd start a thread so the guys that went to the signing can tell us all about it and post their piccies too - does anyone mind if I use their piccies on the website as I thought it would be nice to do a little write up on it.

Last night's all a bit of a blur, but I've got my photo with Julian to remind me that I was actually there, actually touching him. He's just ....... gorgeous! :D

All of the cast members we met (Pippa, Michelle, Julian, Steve) were lovely, and thanked people for coming along. And it was great to start putting faces to some of the names that appear here.

Look forward to hearing more about other people's experiences.

Oh Jools. You were really missed!

It was a fabulous night and it was wonderful to finally put some faces to the names. My feet are now killing me, but it was all worth it!

Tutt-Sweet and I stood in the queue for what felt like hours. But it was worth it. I spoke to Steve who was adamant he knew me, then we got moaned at because we stood talking for too long, Michelle and Pippa were great and Julian was just wonderful!

He was really appreciative of the site and we told him that he must come on sometime to say hello!

Tutt-Sweet and I were really lucky also to catch up with Julian afterwards when we were waiting for a friend of ours. We handed him some goodies and had a lovely little chat about this and that, before one of the bodyguards/bouncers interrupted and told him his car had arrived.

Julian has a lovely expression when he's interrupted. If looks could kill that bodyguard/bouncer wouldn't have been standing!

Haha I just saw these over at the SM forum!

You are truely a lucky gal hon! And I saw you leaving too! If I had known it was you, I would have grabbed you to say hello (I was wearing a white and purple coat over my t-shirt)

I have to ask if anyone else had any problems with security guards? I was told to piss off when waiting to take Tutt-Sweet's photo with Julian, and then later, having Julian dragged away from me, but they weren't too bad. But then again they probably though Tutt-Sweet and I looked too old to cause any trouble..

They were really nice to me. I got chatting to the blond one at about 5.30 when I explained that I had a meeting to go to and could they get a DVD signed for me. I then chatted to the Virgin team who agreed and said that if I got back early enough they might still be there - which they were. They had technically closed the queue but because I'd been in earlier, they let me join the end. They also got a chair for me to sit on - I have a bad back and they were helpful. Mind, you, tehere was a few others who I hadn't talked toand they looked like they might be not as nice. Sorry I missed you it would have been great to chat - I met another lady in the queue and we went for coffee and cake at garfunkels afterwards. I could have died for her becasue her camera didn't have 'autosave' activated and she came out with no photos - but only realised when we were in the coffee place- OMFG!

Does anyone else have trouble with posting messages on this forum? The type is white on posting a message with a white background so I have to keep going back and highlighting everything to check what I've written and spelling etc cos I can#'t see it!. Know the answer? I've tried to change the font colour but I think that's just how it will appear as once poste, not when I'm typing. Help!

You need to log in using the main link at the top below the banner. For me at least it gets rid of the funny colours and white font...

Thanks faeriequeen - I've changed my style to subsilver and I can see what I'm writing. Hopefully there'll be fewer mistakes now!

Ducatilady was having that same problem with the font.

That Blond security guard was lovely. Even if he did say I was sad. Tutt Sweet and I were talking with him a fair bit

Hi everyone, I'm home, exhausted but very very happy! What a brilliant evening we all had on Monday. I was getting really worried that Julian would leave before I got to meet him, but he obviously stayed to the bitter end. It must have been very tiring for them all, meeting so many fans, I wonder how many were there 400 at least I reckon.
It was great to meet Hells & Tutt-sweet, Chatterbox & Rosie.
Tutt-sweet, I am so glad I took up your suggestion to wear a badge, Steven was not impressed! he signed my DVD 'Hello Rita, Ginger lover! he was in good form, loving every minute of it!
Michelle & Pippa squealed simultaniously when they saw my badge & excitedly pointed it out to Julian, who took it all very coolly. he leaned over for a closer look, said it was cute & that I had excellent taste. (we already knew that)
I did tell him that I had come over specially from France, to which Pippa shouted 'You Win, no contest!'
I had my husband with me, who is a green wing fan, but not a fanatical obsessive like me. So he just lurked behind me & took lots of photos which I will post on here if someone will tell me how to go about it.
Faerie queen, many thanks for the info you gave to Jo, I had the same problem, but now I can see what I am writing. Maybe we could get together when I come back to Manchester next month.
Enjoying reading everyone's stories!

Hi there - glad to hear you made it back in one piece, so sorry I didn't get to meet up with you guys - have you managed to download your pics, if so you can email them to me and I'll get them uploaded for you - best thing to do is find a hosting package for them like flickr or photobucket or something like that. Cheers

Hi Ducatilady,

Super to meet you & everyone else the other night.

I loved Steve's comments on your :lv: badge!

Yes, I was glad I did my little badge too ! Julian noticed it on my bag ...I'm sure he must think we're all having a second childhood ![gosh!...can I still say that in relation to the new laws about 'age'?!] He was very good natured about it all & the perfect gentleman.....made me love him even more. :swoon: He is even more gorgeous in the flesh than I remembered from last April & I think he must have a picture in the attic because he looks just soooo young!

Glad you got home ok, & hope to meet up again sometime in the future.

Aw it was fabulous meeting you and I hope we can do it again in the future. It was great to put faces to the names athough next time I think we should send each other pictures so we can at least look out for the faces! I think there are a fair few blondes in London now that think I'm a bit odd after grinning at them all thinking they could be Tutt-Sweet!

Thought I'd just add a comment to this thread as well as elsewhere... First of all, it was brilliant to meet Hells, Ducatilady, tutt-sweet and Rosie (again!), and put faces to the names. Rosie and I met at about 5 o'clock and bought our dvds, and chatted to some other fans. I asked the guy behind the checkout where the signing was and he said "upstairs, but I don't expect it'll be very busy" HA!

Rosie and I started queueing at about 5.30 and we got to the front at about 8 ish. In the meantime I looked at and couldn't get to speak to James Henry and Victoria Pile amongst others - I was sad about that as Victoria Pile is a real hero of mine - they had gone by the time we got out of the queue.

On to the good bit - Rosie went first, and she had bought a funny card, and everyone made comments while they were signing it - Pippa was particularly funny! I followed on behind, and took a photo of Rosie with Julian, and she did the same for me!

Julian signed disc 3 of the dvd, and the others signed elsewhere on the case. I tried to play it last night and it jumped about all over the place - do you reckon I can ask Julian to personally deliver me a replacement? I wouldn't like to trust it to the post

Here is my picture of Julian, but without me - I'm shy!!
