London Bridgathon 2009, Sunday 4th October
The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit at UCLH annual 'Bridgathon' walk will be held on Sunday 4th October 2009 in London to raise funds for the unit. Julian as Patron will be officially starting the event...
I have decided to enter this event this year. It would be good to have a jrt.co.uk contingent so if anyone fancies joining me, let me know. I am filling in the application form over the weekend, so let me know asap if you would like to join in.
I'll certainly be trying my luck with a bit of sponsorship nearer the time as well .....
Details aren't yet up on the events page, but more information should be added here
http://www.uclh.nhs.uk/Charities+at+UCLH/Leukaemia+and+Lymphoma+charity/Events.htm
as it becomes available.
Here is the leaflet with entry form if you want to print it and enter yourself...

Well I'll fill the form in for those of us that know now that we want to do it - I'm sure we will be able to add more later!
Di and Rita, it looks like it would be quite easy to do a part of the course if you found it too tough - after all, you could just cross a bridge to the other side and wait for the rest to catch you up again if necessary

Ok, we now have a justgiving fundraising page at http://www.justgiving.com/jrtforum . So, if anyone wants to sponsor us as a group, this would probably be the easiest way to do it!
If you would like to join us on the walk, there is still plenty of room

Wow! This has been awesomely successful! And that's not even counting what we get from our paper forms. When I return to College next month, I'll be waving my paper at everyone to get them to sponsor us. This is going to be really cool! =D
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

Well, we all got there eventually and, apart from a few aching legs this evening, we all completed in one piece.
Here are a couple of highlights...
Not too late if you would like to sponsor us.... http://www.justgiving.com/jrtforum
Thanks ladies, (and Julian!) for a brilliant day out, and all for a good cause

A smashing day for a walk! Glad to say my knee feels fine, though feet are a touch tired & achy.Well done ladies for completing the full 6 miles [& 6 bridges!] you were all wonderful company & made the walk seem a lot shorter than it actually was.... with the merry banter!
Lovely to see & briefly chat to Julian again, who was his usual very charming self. I'm sure he's proud of us for managing the walk & raising funds for a very worthy cause.
( I have some more pics I'll send you Kim, & you can choose whether to post them.... or not!)
