Thanks for the welcome guys! I am overwhelmed by the JRT loveliness here. I've sat with my headphones on solidly in work for the last week, working my way through all the audio bits. Yumm.

Ah I used to do that at work also, but we have had new computers and our lovely IT deprtment have disabled the sound card, apparantly it's now company policy. I have resorted to bringing in my CD player and listening to all the JRT narrated audio books I have instead

Somehow I feel I'd be in trouble for doing that at the box office

Mind you home at 2 to do some sewing and I feel JRT may have to help me make 2 bridesmaid dresses today

Hello everyone!

My name is Billy and I was only recently turned on to Julian's work when I saw a broadcast of "Oliver Twist" on a local public broadcasting station. All it took was a few seconds of Monks and I was hooked.

I live in Los Angeles, I am 44 years young and hope that doesn't set off the creep alarm. I am really quite harmless! :inno:

I spend a lot of time over at the message board for Bill Nighy where I tend to some of the moderating duties, and I was thrilled to find out from Kim that Julian was considered for a role in "Blue/Orange" alongside Bill. That would have been absolutely dreamy for me.

Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble. I am very glad to be here and I look forward to discovering more of Julian's work!

Hi BillyMack, and welcome. Don't worry, there's no ageism around here.

Hope you enjoy discovering more of Julian's work (watched Green Wing yet?). Agree with you about Bill Nighy and JRT, definitely a dreamteam if it were ever to happen! :)

Hi Billy, welcome to the site...and I don't think you need to worry about your age considering that some of us on here are 20 years younger than him too!
Lol.

Thanks to all for the welcome! I definitely will be busy collecting as many DVD's as possible. Thank goodness I have a region-free player! Any recommendations on where to start? You mentioned Green Wing, Rosie...is that a nice jumping off point?

I've been checking out the website too and feel like a kid in a candy store...there is just so much to choose from, lol! Very groovy indeed!

Green Wing is definitely what Julian is best known for in the UK... but I don't think it is available everywhere as DVD yet, so you may have to search around a little, or have access to a multi-region player!

Glad you like the site - hopefully it will take you a while to run out of things to look at or listen to! :)

Green Wing is definitely essential, but seeing as you're in the U.S it might be easier for you to start off with Keen Eddie as the DVDs are only available in Region 1 anyway. Plus it's really good!

The good thing is I have a DVD player that will play all regions!

I quickly learned I couldn't be a fan of any British actor and not have one, lol!

Yup belated hello and welcome from me too. Green Wing is fab, and if you get the special box edition of it you may catch a glimpse of the a few forum members! Keen Eddie is great aswell. I invested in a dual region DVD player as I seem to be getting more DVD's from the US than ever, especially as a lot of the stuff I have been after of late is only available in the US

Thanks for the welcome gosh n' baggie :)

Yes there are some sane folks here in L.A. but I am not sure if I qualify, which simply means that I am not as uptight and smug as the majority of the inhabitants. And I have absolutely NO silicone or botox in my body! I am an outcast to be sure!

I just found the box set of Green Wing on Amazon.com/uk and it should be on it's way to me as I type! I also picked up "Hippies" for the Simon Pegg factor, and the fashion...gotta love the 70's.

Oh yes, Hippies is definitely another brilliant one - Julian is so posh & effortlessly cool, with amazing outfits!
