The Voices in My Head

Postby smoo2 » Tue Sep 16, 2008 11:23 am

This is on Sat 20th Sept at 8.00pm on Radio 4 in The Archive Hour.

'Actor Julian Rhind-Tutt has always been drawn to particular voices. But why one and not another? Why does one voice sound like 1995 and another like fish and chips? And how can an actor differentiate between the voice he can hear in his head and the one that he knows he sounds like? In a personal journey through the archives, JRT finds some of the answers to these imponderable questions.'

Sounds interesting! And a programme all to himself! :D

Sounds intriguing...especially the bit about "a recording he made in a tent in Ethiopia in a rain storm". Thanks for the info, smoo2 and kath!

It's barely a minute in but I'm already loving it! :D

ETA: Oh wow, that was brilliant! I want to listen to it all over again immediately because it brings up so many interesting things. It's a shame he didn't feel he could include any of his own voice work in it though...I'm sure he knows how wonderful his voice is now, as opposed to "3 ballons' worth of helium"! Lol.

Interesting stuff - some aspects about voices I'd never considered. The archive clips were good as well.
