not quite a julian meetup but...

Postby guyoline » Sun Jul 27, 2008 11:07 pm

we discussed this yesterday (the 5 of us) that it would be a nice idea to plan a trip to see Stephen Mangan in The Norman Conquests.
the main issue with this is that they are 3 plays!

it is running from the 11th september until the 19th december but of course it would be best to see all the plays in order so we need to make sure we see them the right way around

We could do this in two ways really:
1) we see them at 3 seperate times (I suggest a decent sized gap between each so people coming from afar are not constantly traveling back)

2) there are sepcial trilogy weekends which we could do instead:
these dates are: friday the 3rd and saturday 4th october, friday 24th and 25th october, friday 7th and sat 8th november, friday 14th and sat 15th november, Friday 28th and Sat 29th Nov, friday 12th Sat 13th December,
a trilogy day on the monday 6th october, Saturday 18th october, sat 1st november, Saturday 22nd November, sat 6th December,
last performance (trilogy day) is the saturday 19th december

it would be good to get as many people as possible to go so whatever is best for the majority will most likely happen (even if that means I have to go wihtout you all - hopefully I will be able to make it anyway)

I've already booked my tickets...I didn't have much choice about what dates I could do as it's on when I'm in France so I'm coming back especially for a couple of days during my Toussaint holidays! So I'm seeing:
Table Manners at 7.30pm on Tues 28th October
Living Together at 3pm on Wed 29th October
Round & Round The Garden at 7.30pm on Wed 29th October

So if anyone wants to go on any of those dates feel free to join me. :)

Incidentally, it doesn't matter what order you see them in apparently, and they still work as single plays on their own so if you can only make one date it's not the end of the world. I downloaded the TV versions of the original production with Tom Conti, Penelope Wilton, Richard Briers and Penelope Keith in it and Steve is going to eat up that part! :D

I would like to go, but could only attend a day, as the possibility of getting time out of school is fairly slim, and that would have to be a Saturday. I'm having to ask for time off for the re-union week-end in January, can't push it!! s

I can only get online at work at the moment because the internet access in my Birmingham flat is rubbish...so I'm afraid you'll have to wait till I move back to London in the middle of Aug. Sorry.

A Trilogy weekend would probably work better for me as I'll be at college from the 29th September.

my timetable is now far more flexiable as I'm not starting uni till march so I can do whenever but I would still prefer a weekend as I may have to get a job and weekend would work better

I am going to see a couple of the Norman Conquests with Rosie and Di on the 29th October (the same time as Gabriella) and the 10th December (with Rita as well!).

If anyone would like to join us, or just meet us for a coffee/drink/meal, let us know and we can see what we can arrange.

I am going on the 20th to see one of them (eary surpise birthday present for my best friend - I am too excited about that) - I can't go on the 29th but I should be able to make the 10th dec to see table manners

and oh Gabriella I may be able to come with you on the 28th but it depends on funds, I'll keep you informed

Cool. Someone else I know from LJ is going on the 28th too, so don't worry if you can't. :)

I'm going to book a ticket for the 10th with you guys but I don't know if I can meet up before as it depends on what my shifts are when I start work

I just need to work out when to see living together now. I think i may go near the end of november

I went to Round and Round the Garden on monday and steve was brilliant! it was so good - I won't spoil it for any of you though but my gosh I though I was going to die of squee at a few points.
I met him at the stage door afterwards and he remembered me and was so sweet and his face lit up when I asked him how his baby was
