I have wonderful neighbours most of them have known me my whole life as I live in my grandparents house. Most of them though are getting on and happily keep an eye out for me but I wouldn't want them to get involved. The couple who live opposite have given me their mobile and house numbers as he's a well built butcher who could see any intruder off. He happens to be a friend of my parents too.

They all knew my x so they know who to look out for. Once when he called round 3 of them came over as soon as they saw him leave to make sure I was ok. I just think they think I'm having the time of my life with various men calling round

One of them even asked my mum which one's name should go on my xmas card.

On a completely different note I've just come on-line and discovered an old uni friend who is now a tv presenter has been arrested because of the death of his girlfriend. Very strange and sad there were only 4 english students at my uni so we kind of hung out together . His x , my old room-mate, has just called me to see if I knew about it.

Haven't managed to get on here since before Christmas, so Happy New Year everyone!
Over the holiday my daughter (13) started to 'see the light' as far as Julian is concerned. We were watching Oliver Twist when there was a close up of him and she gasped "how blue are his eyes!". She then said she wanted to see Shadow in the North because he was in it (and she watched very intently!).
The only problem is she's a bit too young for me to drool properly over him with her!

I spilt wine on my laptop last night and completely killed it. To say I'm not in my mother's good books at the moment would be a huge understatement. :(
We're taking it to a repair place tomorrow for a quote though.

Ooops FQ - who were you drooling over, this time, to get you so over-excited that you spilt your wine?
Hope its not too costly to repair?!

No it was some rosé wine...and I'm going back to uni tomorrow, sans laptop. Apparently the motherboard is broken so a new one of those plus labour and VAT means it's probably going to cost £300 to fix...which is probably cheaper than buying a new one with the same spec, so I think we'll do that.

Oh no Gabs that's terrible mate....is your mom talking to you again yet?

I'm still feeling crap. I am now at the snotty nose, blocked sinus, cotton wooley head stage of my cold, although I am being a brave little soldier and trying to work, my boss is having oodlles of fun taking the piss ! I am listening to Jules reading Hangover Square, apart from being very good and very soothing, it is also annoying said boss greatly...hurrah, I told him i'd get my own back!

Did anyone watch Rapunzel last night ? I thought it was brilliant, and Ollie Chris was fantastic as the tennis lothario. I even liked his suspect russian-esk accent ! And I don't suppose him getting his chest out hurt either

I watched Rapunzel & have to agree with you about Oli Chris, he looked fantastic, really enjoyed it. Sadly couldn't say the same for the new Steve Mangan programme...hope it gets better!

Same here Rita I wasn't overley struck with Never Better either. I shall persevere and watch again next week. I just really couldn't get into it, I didn't find it interesting or the characters that engaging really. Maybe next week it'll be better. I will however be watching next weeks fairy tale. I only hope it turns out to be as good as Rapunzel.

Baggie whatever you've got you passed on to me. Was hoping for a nice quiet day but after driving to ludlow for a fitting i called into mt sisters to arrange her 40th birthday we're all going on holiday) and because of various domestic reasons left with her son. She was meant to have him back by this evening but guess what he's still with me and now stopping for the night. So much for painting the kitchen for the adoption people to come round.

My lounge has disappeared under thomas the tank engine and the kittens are][now asleep in my old sindy tent that his acton menhave commandered. If they just signed him over to me it would be easier as he spends more time here than he does at home.

By the way Jake loves the photos of us from last weekend he thinks you all look fun

Yes - Oli Chris was looking rather good wasn't he? I thought there would be more of him though?!
James Nesbitt is on next week's "Fairytale" though and I have always liked him...

keeping up my tradition of bloody stupid accidents. Heard a noise downstairs last night so I went to investigate. Ended up in the kitchen checking my walk in pantry ,stepped back fell over one of the kittens and plumeted to the ground.

As I had been painting said pantry earlier my fridge was in the middle of my kitchen and I landed on the top/corner of that on my way to the floor.

Needless to say I can hardly move I have an amazing bruise down my shoulder blade, back and under my arm and I get a pain in my chest when I try to shallow. There must be an easier way of meeting a doctor

The kitten is fine though

Jesus Em, you should come with a public health and safety warning! Get yourself to the hospital and get checked over properly as it sounds like you may have done some real damage to yourself

maybe I should ask rita if there's a ground floor bedroom for the holiday or maybe just a mattress on the floor.

Off to the doctor tonight I made an appointment earlier
