I love those - nice work, maisie! My personal favourite has got to be the second one, though - how very apt!!!

Oh and thanks, FQ, for providing the screencaps in the first place - I don't think my live pause would have survived much longer otherwise!!!

Glad you like them Ch1 :D I was trying to think of Jules-quotes that were magic related but I couldn't come up with that many and his face just said 'lion-tamer barely holding back the hordes of squeeing women'!

If anyone can think of any magical quotes I'll gladly substitute - I was sure that somewhere in GW he said something like ' real actual magical powers' but couldn't remember where it might be so I think I might be imagining it!

There was something about making an invisibility serum that had made one of his toes nearly disappear as he walked into the hospital with Emililee. As often happens with Julian/Mac, it was murmured all too subtlely rather than go for a boom-tish gag, if you know what I mean!

I rather like him with a white face. Is that very wrong of me?

Is it the white face that appeals, or the extravagant eye make-up???

looked after Jake aka mini mac last night in between putting up 3 xmas trees, with the help of 1 cat and 2 kittens, he appeared from my bedroom covered in eyeliner and waving the wand from my old magic set and announced he was Julian!!!

Maybe I shouldn't always point out that Julian is on as I seem to have passed my obsession on!.

Given the friase blonde hair he also has I may have to use the picture I took as my christmas card this year

I was flicking through all the TV magazines when I came across a very small picture of our beloved Jules in the "TV and Satellite Week" magazine - his character is called Alistair MacKinnon and he is a client of Fred's (the photographer determind to make Sally, Billy's character, his wife - played by JJ Feild) who claims that his life has been threatened after having a vision of a murder!

I tried to look for a link to this photo but I can't find one I'm afraid - one of you other computer Whizz-kids will have find it (?)I did, however, look on the BBC website too but could only find an interview with Billy Piper who says (amongst other things):

"It was a really fun job, however, with a great cast on board: Johnny Standing, who is always hilarious, Jared (Harris) and Julian and of course JJ and Matt who I knew from The Ruby In The Smoke so we had a laugh all the time."

Its on BBC1 on the 30th December at 8.55pm (according to "TV & Satellite week" magazine)

He is also mentioned in January's issue of "Hello" (in an interview with Billie Piper) -

"Her impressive list of co-stars includes, Green Wing heartthrob Julian Rhind-Tutt who plays Scottish magician Alistair MacKinnon..."

I saw a proper trailer for this the other day - not just one of those ones interspersed with 10 other programmes. And there was a bit of Julian without the make-up on

Ooh, man! that sounds mint!! I have to see this.

Whats supercool is that a while ago i bought "The Ruby In The Smoke" but never got round to reading it. I think this calls for some digging around in the spare room for it.
Hurray!

scottish accent? sounds interesting... ;)
I know! It's a wand. It's a magical, magical wand.

Arrrgghhhhh! I'm working tomorrow evening and my video recorder has just chosen this marvellous moment to pack up! :duh: The only thing that's keeping me sane is Julian in Tomb Raider on BBC3 at the moment. I really hope they repeat SitN at a decent hour when I'm not at stupid work :x Especially as he looks so amazingly HOT in that scanned picture. *strokes imaginary lions mane*

Ooh, he was very convincing in this, wasn't he? Good accent and the lion's mane was looking lovely! :lvdr: Yes, not enough air-time though. I did enjoy the rest actually, but I didn't see the first one, so I don't know what that was like.

I had to drive back up to Manchester from Sussex today and was terrified I was going to miss it! I'd told my family all about the programme beforehand so my dad said I didn't have to help unpack if it was on when I got in! Haha.
Good job though, because I walked in the door, turned on the TV and it had just started! Perfect timing!! I was impressed.

I definitely enjoyed it! Even the bits without the lovely Julian!

He was fantastic though.. as per!
His Scottish accent was adorable!
I loved the bit where he kicked that guy on the floor and said something like "That'll teach you to lay hands on the Wizard of the North"
And the bits where he had to get upset! I couldnt suppress an Aww!! But I still don't think my mum understands my obsession...

I was just a bit confused at the end with the story (maybe I missed something) - why didn't Lady Mary want to be with MacKinnon??
Mac: How are the people of Insania without their Mighty Queen?
Sue White: Oh well you know, they're alright. I left them post-it notes with instructions.

*Thanks to maisie for the icon!*

Julian was brilliant as ever and as soon as he spoke my husband said: "Good accent!".
Once again, I found myself waiting for his scenes and not really paying much attention to the others - there just wasn't enough of him!!!!! :bawl:

Agree with you Chi, that there wasn't enough of him, although at one point I thought he was going to get killed off so was quite relieved that he made it to the end of the story! Enjoyed this overall, although you had to concentrate to gather all the threads of the story together.

Loved the lion's mane and the dramatic bits, especially his 'hurt' look at the end - made me  .

MiMac:
why didn't Lady Mary want to be with MacKinnon??

Thought it was maybe because she realised he'd married her for her inheritance, rather than for love.

What I didn't catch was, did his true love (at least I think he had feelings for her - was she called Isobel?) die in the fire? Will just have to watch certain bits again! :?
