I have found out on Wikipedia that Julian is to appear alongside Juliet Stevenson in an episode of the new series of the Miss Marple TV Series later on this year. The episode is part of Series 3. It is called Ordeal by Innocence. Stephen Mangan and Mark Heap are in another episode in the same series. To see this, click here.

Ah! That would explain the dark hair.
Actually, come to think of it - does it?! What's wrong with his lovely fraise-blond?

Thanks for that eiffel.
Wonder if he's playing a 'baddie'?
...they usually have darkish hair! Pity I don't like Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple, but I'll suffer her appalling over acting just to see JRT.
Wonder when it will be screened ..we'll all have to keep our eyes open!

There's a bit in The Sun's TV gossip about it today (no pic though):
"Green Wing star Julian Rhind-Tutt has landed a part in the next Miss Marple whodunnit.
The star-studded cast includes Jane Seymour, Alison Steadman, Juliet Stevenson and Lisa Stansfield. Richard Armitage - who played the Vicar of Dibley's hynky husband - also appears.
Ordeal by Innocence will be screened on ITV1 later this year."
When is "later this year"? Hope we don't have to wait too long!

Apparently he has to cut his hair for this as well as dye it!

Actually having seen his dark hair I don't think it looked that bad (Steve and Tamsin) made him take his beanie off on Wednesday so we could all have a look) And lets face it the colour will lightne quickly, it always does when you darken light hair. Jools reliably informed me that he hates the new dye job which is why he's wearing the beanie

The Wikipedia site has been updated and he is playing a character called Dr. Arthur Calgary

Synopsis
Another title in the new and stylish Agatha Christie Signature Editions series. The Argyle family is far from pleased to discover one of its number has been post-humously pardoned for murder -- if Jacko Argyle didn't kill his mother, who did? The front door of the family home was locked...Dr. Arthur Calgary takes a ferry across the Rubicon River to Sunny Point, the home of the Argyle family. A year before, the matriarch of the family was murdered and a son, Jack, was convicted and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison. Throughout the trial Jack had maintained his innocence, claiming he was hitchhiking on the night of the murder and he had been picked up by a middle-aged man in a dark car. Unable to locate this mystery man the police viewed Jack's as a lie. Calgary was the stranger in question, but he arrives to late for Jack -- who succumbs to pneumonia after serving just six months of his sentence. Feeling a sense of duty to the Argyles, Calgary is surprised when his revelation has a disturbing effect on the family -- it means one of the family is a murderer...
This is from Amazon, and it seems to suggest that it is indeed a big part! But I haven't read Agatha Christie for ages so I can't be sure!

The Miss Marple - Ordeal by Innocence DVD has just been "recommended" to me by Amazon (because I buy a lot of JRT-related stuff from them!) and it has a release date of June 11 2007. I wonder if that means it will be on TV around the beginning of June?

I reckon his hair had to be died for Landscape With Weapon as it'd be even harder to imagine him as Tom Hollander's brother with his lovely fraise-blondeness on show, so I expect he'll have to keep it dark for as long as the play goes on for!
Looking forward to Marple though!

You'll probably find that the new series will start late June, early July if the DVD is out mid June

Surely, they'd show the episode on TV before relieasing the DVD? sounds a bit backward to me...
