Bridgathon 2011, 25th September

Postby chatterbox » Fri Jul 01, 2011 8:33 pm

Yes, this year's Bridgathon is fast approaching....... :sos:

This year's date is 25th September and I am looking for volunteers to join me!!

This is a fun day out with a sponsored leisurely stroll along the Thames, and with a possibility that Julian may join us at the starting point.

If you would like to join in, either post below or send me a pm. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to it already! :foru:

Obviously, if you prefer to enter under your own name, feel free to print out and return the form directly to Sara Goldman at UCLH. :ta:

I hope to be there.

We should turn it into a protest march to demand the return of the golden mane.

Sorry I haven't updated yet!

No, Julian had got held up elsewhere, but he sent the lovely Tom Goodman-Hill in his place. We had a short chat with him as did many of the others there, then he launched us off for the walk.

We had a lovely wander around in the sunshine, and I can't say that we walked particularly quickly - in fact we were only about a quarter of the way round when we met our first people coming back the other way... However, I think we got back somewhere in the middle of the pack so honour was maintained.

We are all adding our offline collections via the justgiving site this year, and I am still collecting mine, but I will let you know the total figure when we have it.

Tom did promise that he would make sure Julian was there next year, so maybe see some more of you there then. I know some more fans were there, but sadly we didn't get organised enough to meet - maybe next time!!

Here are a few photos of us on the day. It's not too late to send more money... http://www.justgiving.com/jrt2011

Thank you to everyone who sponsored us - the money is very much appreciated and is used to make a real difference. :foru: And, thank you of course, to the Bridgathon walkers - thanks for making it a fun day as always and making the effort for a great cause :ta:
