I can only echo what others have said - fantastic weekend, and thanks to Rita and her family, I can't imagine how much organisation it took to get 17 people plus food, viewing screens etc. etc up a Swiss mountain for 4 days!

Finally I'm near a computer and everyone else has said it all.

Thankyou again to Rita and her lovely family for all their wonderful organising, and to Bikey for the lovely meal. My highlight swimming in Lake Geneva ( no it wasn't cold Baggie) esp with the swans. Still think we should have hired peddalos to try and capture one.

Watching Green wing with you all was wonderful and I know I'm strange but I really liked the mountain ( hill ) climbing, esp early inthe morning I'm missing it. The cows here are bell-less but I'm working on that and yes I did go to the Malvern Hills on tues because I felt the need to climb something.

My photo's won't be up til I get the laptop back so you'll have to wait for the sunset that I walked very quickly up the mountain for. By the way I'd like to thank Rita for booking somewhere with such amazing scenery that made me get out and lose 5lb!!

I just received a postcard from the Swiss Family Green Wing

Thank you everyone... yes I did wish I was there!!

I thought it was about time I posted my impressions of the weekend. Luckily we had access to the chalet from mid morning so were able to organise things before everyone started to arrive. Happily Will was able to get the day off work and he & Ian spent ages getting the screen & projector just right, meanwhile I was allocating bedrooms & distributing toilet rolls etc...very important that!
It was very exciting meeting the first comers at the station, after all the planning & preparation, it was actually happening!
Bikey & I were calmly cooking the dinner when I got a frantic phone call from Will to say that the delivery driver, with all our food, couldn't find the chalet & was getting pissed off, and would I go down to the parking to find him? It eventually took about 4 phone calls to the HQ of the shop to direct the driver to the chalet. Meanwhile Bikey finished cooking dinner all on her own...bless you Bikey, you were a star!
Once the food had arrived everything fell into place.
Penny & Bikey spent the weekend making Green Wing cocktails, which were much appreciated. Kates chocolate cocks...the timing of that comment, Kate, was impeccable!
I thought you were all wonderful the way you all got stuck in everytime there was something to be done...washing up, drying, spinning salads, nothing was too much trouble.
I felt the atmosphere was fantastic the entire weekend, no-one was left out or isolated, even Ian seemed to be in his element, acting the clown all weekend.
As for the weather, apparently Rosa had said to Will earlier in the week 'I will be glad when your parents get here, they always have good weather' and sure enough it switched from 9 degrees on thursday to 26 on Friday!
It was very gratifying to me that you all fell in love with the area, with the mountains, the trains, the lake, the chalet and even the cows.
I was amazed to get up early on saturday morning & find most of you already up & dressed, determined to make the most of the day.
Watching the DVD on that big screen, with other fans was something not to be missed, it was amazing.
Thank you all for being such enthusiastic guests, it made it all worth while...I love you all!

Ah wow! - sounds like you all had a fab weekend - wish I didn't have to work ( and the one time I wish I didn't work in a school!) and could have gone too - the views looked absolutely stunning and what fun you all had and hearing about JRT's email....ahh bless him!

I cannot believe that at this time last week I was getting on a plane to go to Switzerland. Its madness, where has the week gone!

Mac V I know exactly waht you mean. I have had the serious holiday blues since I got back. It's all been slightly depressing at home and that incudes the weather!

I can't pretend I'm not outrageously envious of your GW weekend. I have cows, grass etc here, but no total nutters to share it with. Very much enjoyed all the photos and videos, so thanks for sharing

With all of my stuff going on, I totally forgot about you guys doing this!
It sounds like you had a brilliant time. Photos are brilliant, that's a spectacular view. I wish I'd gone... your party bags were a genius idea!!! I remember seeing "caramac" bars in shops shortly after i joined the forum and laughing for ages while my friends looked at me, totally bemused.
Spoon of Destiny must have been hilarious.
