hehe my fingers are crossed for both of us - after a few days i'm probably going to start getting up at like 5.30 to wait for the postman even though i know a reply wouldn't arrive that quickly and the postman wouldn't even come for another 3 hoursish

wow, ali2555, i really hope you get a reply! I know i would be exactely the same if i were waiting for a reply from JRT...I would be constantly excited, waiting for the day i came home from school or work to find that letter on my kitchen table... 8) i'm getting all happy just thinking about it!

One question though, which has been worrying me ever since i started to think about writing to him...

What do i write in the letter???

Because i wrote a draft letter, and it ended up about 2 sides of A4 :? I dont think i should send him something that long, but i dont know what to include, what not to include etc.
what have other people put in?

hehe yeah i had the same problem. i cut mine down to about 3/4 of a page because i didn't want to let him lose interest. i've already forgotten exactly what i put but i think it was just a few things i liked him in and stuff like that. i also asked for an autograph for my friend who also harbours a secret obsession. i've never been good at writing though so i'm just hoping my letter wasn't too bad!
i hope this helps, though i kind of doubt it will.... oh well

:thanks: ali255! thats does help actually, i now know what to write! i looked at it after writing it and thought "there is NO way on this earth that i can send something that long!". Like you said, something longer than a page at the absolute max is going to bore him silly  !
I'll let you know when i send it and get something back
Fingers crossed for yours hun!

Good luck Funk-eh B with your letter. I kept mine quite short so as not to waffle or bore the arse of him. I also included an SAE just in case he wants to write back :D

he probably sets a time to to post all the fan replies at the same time rather than going to his nearest postbox however many times, so if we do get replies they might all be on the same day.... just think of the excitement. the forum would probably go into overload with all the congratulating and excited posting!

Yeah it was one of the best days ever when I got his reply to my letter! Even though it wasn't really a surprise cos he told me he'd posted it when I talked to him at the Series 2 dvd signing the day before. :D

I cannot wait, i think that i will actually squee with happiness!
I actually really want to meet him now, like more than ever! i have always wanted to meet him, ever since i became a fan, but i think the more i watch the things he is in the more i just want a chance to say hi. although, i think i will just melt into a puddle of nothingness when i see him and will just be so excited hehehe
I remember when i met Paul Merton a few weeks back. i syked myself up about seeing him on a drama trip with my school, and then when a few of my class were taking back stage and i saw him i was just like "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek" hehehe. i then had my photo taken with him, which was awesome!

if there are any more conventions or signings coming up, let me know, so i can try and bribe people to take me! 8)

The trip was to the Bristol Silent Movies festival on the 12th Jan this year. He was master of ceremonies there and introduced all the silent movies etc. my teacher phoned in before hand and asked very sweetly if Paul wouldn't mind meeting a few of the students from The Blue School for a little chat, and he said he would love to! so we went back stage and talked with him. he was such a nice guy, it was a real pleasure talking to him.

oh no, dont tell me that, that'll only make things worse for myself  I have this thing, see, where when i get really excited about meeting someone famous and therefore get really shy, i go *extremely* red  its really embarrasing! so when i see him, he'll probably think i'm really odd or something!!! 8)

awwww, he is so yummy :D :lv:

Resistance is Futile.

lolololol.

Aww man, you guys have made me want to write to him now. I keep wanting to write to famous people but never getting around to it. I have a weird thing of drawing people I like in a tiny, comedy cartoon-manga styley. I want to draw Julian and then send it to him. What do you think? Or do you think it'd be weird? Blah. I want a aigned picture!!! *daydreams*

Faeirequeen - how excited must you have been when he said "Oh, I've already posted a reply to your letter!" I'd have imploded.

Oh God yeah! It was certainly one of the best moments of my life, especially because he remembered the names of my friend and I and told us off his own bat that he'd posted it...rather than me having to ask him! He apologised and everything for sending it so late and missing my friend's birthday but I was just all like "omg thank you so much!" but inside I was basically going "eeeeeeeeeeee!".
Hahaha. :D

I wouldn't leave it too long as you don't know how long it will take the letter to reach him from his agents. I sent my letter in Jan and as of yet I a have no reply :?
