I got this off ebay the other day and watched it last night.
The film is a little weird, not least because of Julian's Yorkshire accent.
Now I'm a Yorkshire lass myself and I have to say his attempt was passable but he just sounded soooo strange
I quite like his look in this film and his hair is a great shade and length.
But once again he is the sidekick to the main character (John Simm).
Nearly forgot- Tamsin was in it as a receptionist - but not in a scene with JRT.

I love this movie. My favorite line is "Put down the pickle, we come in peace."
He's gorgeous in it - hair sometimes loose, sometimes banded, always long and lush. The movie is okay, predictable, one of those stories which starts out with a good idea and then becomes bland. I think they must have started with a much better script, because all five of the stars are notable actors. What I do is imagine the same film with Julian as star and make it sexier and more noirish. Julian has no romantic scenes in it, but it's worth the price for any true JRT fan.
Now I'm off to watch Tomb Raider for the 47th time

Jenniefer, I got it on ebay for £5 (2nd hand but in perfect condition).
Oh millefleurs I'd forgotten about the pickle line!
After re-watching Julian's scenes a few times, it's now filed and probably won't come out again for a while. For me it's not a must watch over and over film. I do like most of what John Simm does but this wasn't his best and I found Chritina Ricci quite bland and annoying.

I think you are right Millefleurs - I have the movie because of JRT, and I like John Simm as well, but every time I watch it, I think that there was the potential for a much better movie in there. This could have been a British homage to Chinatown, but it never got there - shame.

I watched Notting Hill on tv last night for what must be the tenth time. It's such fun to see Julian and Hugh Grant together, so much handsomeness is dizzying. It would be so great if they made a film together, with Julian as co-star instead of supporting actor. I wish Julian had co-starred in Maurice with Hugh, instead of James Wilby. I'm tired of Wilby, he's a very good actor but a second-rate strawberry blonde. My mind pictures scenes that are so provocative, sometimes. A handsome dark-haired man whispers to our hero " I just can't quit you, Jules...."
Now, what shall I watch tonight?

YEY - I finally got a copy of this... I really enjoyed it - it might not be the best film but it was still a good watch... and of course Jules was fabbo in it... the accent sounded so strange coming from his mouth - but LOVED it... and he has some of the BEST (?!!) lines... "I bet she eats it"...
"I'm not coming if it's not rude !!"

..have to say I didn't really enjoy this. JRT only in very few scenes ["put down the pickle "etc] & though he's good , IMO it's not worth staying up late to watch Penny
" A few very charming ladies down at my Dad's whist drive have been very kind (average age 75-93). My brother is the headmaster of a special school and I know some of his dinner ladies have been very kind to me as well. "
