Tell me about it, Rita. Other than letting her know that we're here for her, we (her friends) all feel quite helpless.

Julian just came through my letterbox, too - perfect timing! Thanks, FQ and enjoy the sunshine, however ferocious it may be. It beats British weather any day!!! :D

If you watch Antiques roadshow on sunday 2nd sept ( which should also be my 7th wedding anniversary- thank god for divorce) you may spot me desperatly trying to hide behind the very high box office counter at The Courtyard where I sometimes work.

Well in all honesty I get paid for sitting here and spending most of my time on Julian related sites

It may well be worth a watch as most people will sound like they should be in Hot Fuzz and there will no doubt be at least one local who has been using a priceless work of art to line his pigpen.

I will be watching with a large drink and celebrating my freedom :D

No problem...I hope it goes some way in making you feel better! :)
It is slightly less hot here now but I'm covered in inflamed mosquito bites...so that's not great. :(

ugh. mosquitos. i agree. they are eeevil!!

i'd recommend the sort of wipes that you can buy they're much better than the spray, and i completely know what it's like. i hate them and one day shall eradicate them from the world therefore saving millions of lives. when i am god...
And i'm his brother Bob.

I'm off to the south of France in a few weeks so I'm taking B vitamins as apparently that helps against mosquitoes. Went to an island off france last year know for it's salt and got bitten to death.

Mind you taking wipes sprays etc.

Nothing can ever be as bad as the everglades. My families lasting memory of it is their WWF , greenpeace vegan daughter who had been letting mosquitoes out of the car window, suddenly grabbing a fly swater and splattering then all over the hotel room

Good luck with the run/walk Baggie I will nip over to that sight when I get home from work and of course sponsor you.

Sorry to here about your car at least you weren't in it though were you. Some idiot hit my dads car when it was parked on the same day mini's dad drove into a lamp post

I'm at the theatre til 2.30 then being the amazing aunt that i am I'm taking mini to the fire station open day ( this has nothing to do with his aunt having a thing for firemen  really) He's got a mini fireman outfit complete with flashing helmet.

Then one quick fitting then off to the local racecourse which is having a beach day with rides and fireworks. This is going to cost a certain aunty a lot of money isn't it

Didn't realise you were in it Glad your ok though

went to the fire station thing on sat but sadly the really good-looking group of firemen weren't there. Then took mini to the beach/fireworks thing and there was no bar.

At some point could have been the dodgems, the loo with no light or when I crouched so mini could sit on my lap I lost my mobile with all my clients numbers and some of yours. Called Virgin and they've put a stop on my number and are sending me a new sim card so I can keep the same number but I'm phoneless until it turns up.

Then to top it all off my sister and her idiot 4th fiance seem to be staying together (he can't afford to move out) just discovered he owes her over a £1000 then on sat night someone who knows her decided to tell me she'd seen him out more than once all over a girl he works with ( who used to try and get my x-husband into bed).

Do I tell her or not???

Help

Difficult one g&c! It depends on your relationship with your sister I think. I told my brother when I found out my sister-in-law was having an affair (after giving her a chance to end it/ tell him herself). He was really grateful (he knew something wasn't right), but he and I have always been close.
Needless to say she and I don't speak any more, and they did split up, but not just because of the affair.

Baggiebird, I hope you're feeling better.

My mum had told her by the time I got home. You have to worry about the whole what they might catch thing! Anyway she confronted him he denied it she told him she didn't care and he has to move out when his rent runs out next week whether he's got somewhere or not.

Wasn't sure how she'd take it from me as she knows I've hated him for the last year. probably helps that some bloke she likes has shown interest in the last few weeks. She does like to have a man around. Anyway the now X fiance has a nightmare son who always told her to move out of house as it was his and daddy's even though it's actually hers.

She's taking it very well turns out this girl lives opposite the woman her husband left her for and it's only a 5 min walk from her house proving in her words her man are too lazy to even stray far

Glad your sister took it well. Its best to know because the longer the situation goes on the more of a mug you feel when you do find out.
I hope she can start gain in a really positive way.

There's an interview with Stephen Mangan in the G2 part of the Guardian today.
Apparently he and his wife are expecting their first child - aww! (They didn't waste much time!) He's planning some time off after the birth so that he can "wade around in nappies and poo"!

I've read a very similar interview before but Stephen becoming a Dad is an extremely exciting new development!!! That's going to be one cute, curly-haired baby - thanks for posting this, Lil and tutt-sweet!

I already commented on this on the GW LJ but I just have to reiterate that that is going to be one adorable baby! And Steve will be a brilliant Dad...I'm already jealous of the kid!
