FQ got this response to her email to the publishers:

Thank you for your inquiry. I'm sorry to inform you that at this time Titan will not be going ahead with the publication of the second Green Wing Scriptbook.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Why don't we publish it ourselves? I think I can still remember how to use a gestetner printer and I'm sure my husband's John Bull Printing Kit is around somewhere......

I was sppeaking to LinkNeo the other day (on MSN) and mentioned the news about the S2 scriptbook not being published and I sorta of joked that maybe (?) we could do one ourselves and then she suggested that perhaps that we each take an episode each (ok so the number of Forum members overides the episodes by far but we could help each other out?!) and wite it up and then, I mentioned that perhaps she could do the artwork for the cover?!!!........
...So is this just a mad idea or do people want to make our very own S2 scriptbook?!
It could be possible or perhaps some of us have too much time on our hands and others don't?!
Anyway, let me know what you think?

I think you are probably right G&C.

I'm sure no-one would object to someone writing it down and illustrating it for their own satisfaction, but you would be heading for trouble if you tried to distribute or publish.

Just one more reason to have a little lobby of the publishers, or whoever is responsible for the non publication .......

I think we should exert the force of pressure on Titan Books.

Well obviously I didn't mean that we would actually officially print our own version - well except for ourselves! I obviously forgot to mention that! :oops:

...perhaps we should start a petition?! I now have a link to a website where you can design your own petition and am very tempted! to start one....

The petition is a good idea Annabel...but on a grammatical level what you've written looks like we actually want them to reconsider the decision to publish the books; you really need an 'and' in there to make it more clear:

...urging TITAN BOOKS to reconsider their decision and to go ahead and publish the Second series and Special scriptbooks.

Sorry for being a pedant but if they do read it it's rather important to make our aims clear!

I emailed Titan books. Firstly praising the series 1 scriptbook and secondly asking if there was any glimmer of hope that the scriptbook would get published and got this reply:

Thank you for your message. The editorial team is always pleased to hear that someone has enjoyed their work as much as you have! Unfortunately, at this time we have no plans to release the Second Season Scriptbook. Due to licensing constraints and an unfortunate lack of large-scale interest, it wouldn’t be viable for us to continue this series with a second book.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Wonder what they mean by 'licensing constraints'....

And hopefully the petition will show them that there is large scale interest!!

I wrote to James Henry asking him to sign the Petition and he has!

and emailed me a reply :

Hi Annabel, have signed it and will put a thing up on the blog later. I've said if it looks like it won't happen, I might try and get hold of some of the original scripts to put out on pdf's instead...

Ahah! I remember that conversation, annabel!
Maybe it would be a good idea to do it if we just kept it for ourselves - they can't exactly sue us for copyright theft of something written down that's already been sold on DVDs and sharing it between ourselves - so long as it's not for profit. =P
But lets hope this petition thing goes well. James Henry clearly rocks. What's this about pdf's?
