Hello everyone. This is a super-quick Green Wing update: Channel 4 have just announced their winter lineup and we want to get the news about the special episode out to you nice and fast...

Below is the blurb they've just released for the one and a half hour long final episode (warning: slight spoilers):

"The critically-acclaimed Green Wing is back for a one-off Christmas Special. From the award-winning team behind Smack the Pony, this genre-defying comedy proves medical issues needn't have any relevance in a hospital setting. As the mayhem and madness continues, how will it all end for our favourite dysfunctional medics?"

"The end is nigh – Caroline (Tamsin Greig) is now engaged to Guy (Stephen Mangan), while Mac (Julian Rhind-Tutt) has very little time to live. Gripped by desperation and paranoia, dwarf-killing duo Statham (Mark Heap) and Joanna (Pippa Haywood) are on the run, jumping relentlessly out of frying pans and into fires (not quite literally). With no-one left in charge, the admin girls let their basic instincts run wild, while something very strange has happened to Karen (Lucinda Raikes) after her fall from the window. Boyce (Oli Chris) discovers life without Statham, Sue White (Michelle Gomez) spots a job opportunity and Martin (Karl Theobald) feels utterly helpless. Again. Still, at least it all ends happily ever after. Or does it?"

Sounds good doesn't it! When will this special air? Well it is still yet to be decided. This new press release marks the episode as a highlight of their January schedule (noooo!), however we are hoping that is incorrect. As we mentioned in the last newsletter Australia should be showing the final special in late December so C4 couldn't possibly show it after them could they?!?

We contacted C4 to try and clarify things - we got this vague response back from their spokesperson: "We don't have an exact TX date [transmission date] as yet but it is likely to air near Christmas Time at the end of December."

So, sorry, it looks like a bit of a longer wait than we first thought.


God I do hope it has a happy ending....poor Mac. Let's just pray it's a wrong diagnosis!

Wouldn't it be nice to know when Ch 4 are planning on showing this...think we should innundate them with emails about it?!

Oh God, I'm all worried about Mac again now!

we must remember that it would be too straight forward for it all to end predictably...this is greenwing after all!

I'm just looking forward to seeing the infamous bananery kiss!

He can't die! he just can't! it is just too predictable, as the obvious thing would be for him to die after being diagnosed with something terminal. I think he will be fine...i hope he will be fine...Mac is too important to die! i dont think green wing will let it's fans down by letting mac die, so i think they will deliver a jaw-dropper for us

hang on, i realise this is totally off the topic, but are you the same xpingux that has a video on youtube called She (a caromac one)? because i REALLY, REALLY want to watch that video, but my youtube is so annoying and wont let it play. the furthest i can get is to the bit where he is sat on the bench with the hoolahoops. its so annoying, because i have been trying for days to watch it anything i can do to get it playing?

wow, i would just like to say then that i think your videos are brilliant! i have watched most of them now on youtube. i would love them even more if i could watch them the whole way through without them stopping... maybe its just my internet, i'll try on another computer at some point.

I wanted to start trying to make videos of my own, as i have found a song in my collection that would fit perfectly in a caromac video, but i dont know where to get clips from to make it

I love the Guy video too. I am completely addicted to it along with most of the other Green Wing ones. Sometimes they just take a while to buffer!!! Well worth the wait tho'

i watched the special and it was brilliant
well..i got it on dvd infact
it made me cry loads
especially when mac was telling guy about his illness
LAter on i watched black books and who should turn up in an episode..but julian rhind tutt! i was like
