There is an hours interview (in two parts) with Julian on channel4 radio on a programme called Worldwide Music Guide. He talks about places he has visted and plays music he likes. He talks about living in Paris for two years (because of a woman!), playing the cello and learning to tango in Argentina!!
It' well worth listening to. Find it at www.channel4radio.com. You have to register with them to listen but then you can play it as often as you like.

Re: Julian on 4radio
Hello!
I feel I am coming very late to the party, and hope there are still people around. I am hugely interested in JRT, having only recently become fully aware of him when I finally sat down and watched all of Green Wing on dvd.
I was so hoping to listen to this old Channel four interview, which sounds fabulous, but I think it has long since vanished from the website. My only hope is that someone actually downloaded it somewhere. There's a link to it via "Rita's" pages, but it is empty of content.
My fingers are hugely crossed!
