Good job, Kim. Definitely looks more modern. Thanks.
All we need now to make it perfect is some news from our man!

Re: Banished- BBC2

Sorry Mods. I should have posted the stuff about Banished here rather than in news. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-02-17/ripper-streets-myanna-buring-and-being-humans-russell-tovey-are-banished-to-bbc2 But it does look like it's a bigger role than just 'supporting'. Not sure how big yet though...

BBC Audio Drama Awards

Julian is up for Best Actor in today's BBC Audio Drama Awards for The Real Trial of Oscar Wilde. Unfortunately he is up against Ian McKellen and Andrew Scott. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2015/finalists-audio-drama-awards-2015

We can only keep our fingers crossed.

Sophie Hunter

Apologies. This is rather tangential to JRT, but I have a feeling that Benedict Cumberbatch's newly announced fiancée was in an episode of Keen Eddie. The one where Monty and Audrey share breakfast with the couple they have been 'swapping' with the night before. I think she plays the 'other' woman. ...

Saw a trailer for this in the cinema last weekend and our man was featured. So I guess it's coming soon and he hasn't been edited out.

Re: A Touch of Cloth

I can't see a mention on here, but our man was again playing Tom Boss in the new Series 3 of Tof C on Sky1 last week. Quite brief appearances but some satisfying 'cloth' gags.

Pleased for him to get the work, but I do fear him being boxed into inter-war upper-class twit stereotypes.

Re: News about Ducatilady

Not unexpected but extremely sad news. Rita was always so dedicated, being one of the first to archive Julian's work for the rest of us. She took so much pleasure from her meetings and friendship with him and he in turn was very gracious and attentive to her. We were all enriched by knowing her.

Well, we couldn't find more devoted and loyal moderators than Rosie and Tutt-sweet. I shall be delighted to be kept in line by them. You know how rowdy I can get. Maybe you could start by helping me untangle why I am not being allowed to read the radio/audiobooks thread. Is it because I haven't paid...

Re: The Secret Life of Bob Monkhouse

Ha-ha! I came on here to alert people to this narration, having recorded the programme, not knowing about Julian, but getting a lovely surprise on watching it. I should have known that nothing would get past the trusty guardians of the JRT flame. You really are a remarkable lot. Happy 2011 to you al...

I've now caught up with this and enjoyed it much more than I expected. Definitely 'something of the night' about Julian - or perhaps just his character.
